An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has added some more Nintendo magic to the game by recreating the Tarrey Town side quest from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The ACNH community is filled with creative builders and designers who’ve used the game’s tool to recreate scenes and locations from other famous games, with Zelda builds in Animal Crossing being a firm favorite among many of the title’s players.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced a host of new items and tools with the November 2.0 update, which has helped make in-game creating even easier than before. Players have been reimagining their favorite books, movies, TV shows, and games within ACNH since it launched in 2020, but the new content has added a wealth of previously-unavailable items, including cars, trees, and fairground rides, as well as additional features and items that come with the Happy Home Paradise paid DLC. In the free base game update alone, over 9,000 new items came to Animal Crossing, offering more creative freedom than ever before.

Redditor Naydinfar-Crossing, known for their Zelda builds in Animal Crossing, has shared their latest creation online, revealing a miniature reimagining of BOTW’s Tarrey Town. The Tarrey Town side quest sees players build a small town, finding new citizens throughout the lands of Hyrule. In Naydinfar-Crossing’s build, the designer has perfectly recreated the round cliffs on which Tarrey Town is placed, including miniature homes and small trees to give the illusion of looking over the town from a distance. The surrounding area has been carefully carved out, with waterfalls, trees, and cliffsides mimicking the Akkala Highlands. The finished look is a perfect miniature recreation that may have taken just as long to complete as the Tarrey Town quest itself. Naydinfar-Crossing’s island is likely to be a haven for any Zelda fan, having previously recreated other locations and areas from across the entire Legend of Zelda franchise. As well as Tarrey Town, the designer has also made Animal Crossing versions of BOTW Link’s raft, the Korok Forest, The Lost Woods, and even Hyrule Castle. Those looking to see more from the user’s island can follow them on Instagram for further updates on their Zelda recreations.

While ACNH has custom design that allow players to create designs from other games and media, many are still hoping for official Legend of Zelda content to come to the game. Previous games in the Animal Crossing series have added a few Zelda-themed items, usually in the form of outfits, and while New Horizons has seen a crossover with Super Mario content, no such plans have been announced for Zelda. Nintendo has confirmed the ACNH 2.0 game update will be its last substantial update, but smaller content drops are still expected, which could mean official Zelda items may perhaps still happen.
