Big Brother: 10 Times Evicted Houseguests Made It Back Into The House

Being evicted doesn’t always mean Big Brother houseguests are out of the game. Some players have gotten lucky with a second (or third) chance.

With so many twists and surprises in the Big Brother house, even being eliminated early on doesn’t mean a player is out of the game for good. While the main goal for contestants is to make it to the end of the game, it really doesn’t matter how they get to that point.

Viewers know to expect the unexpected, and the unexpected often works in a houseguest’s favor. Getting evicted in most cases means they’re sent packing, but for some lucky players, there’s a chance to earn a rare return to the game. Severeal Big Brother houseguests have successfully competed their way back into the house after an eviction.

Victor Arroyo (Season 18)

Victor Arroyo had an unexpected journey during season 18. He was evicted the first time by a nine-to-one vote at the end of week 2. Luckily, he had a chance to compete in the Battle Back contest and successfully earned his way back into the house. After that, he won competitions and joined alliances, establishing him as a threat, which is why he was evicted for the second time. Victor then made Big Brother history when he won his way back into the house for the second time by winning the Jury Re-Entry competition. These two Big Brother twists ultimately saved his life in the game, and he returned to reunite with ally Paul Abrahamian, but eventually was put on the block against him. Victor was evicted for the third and final time, finishing the season in fifth place.

Cody Nickson (Season 19)

Cody Nickson, who is mostly remembered for his showmance and lasting relationship with Jessica Graf, put up a good fight during Big Brother 19. In a Power of Veto ceremony, his competitor, Paul Abrahamian, put him up as a replacement nominee. Although he knew he would be going home, he spent his last days in the house plotting against people to keep Jess safe. Lucky for Cody, he would return to the house shortly after eviction by winning the Battle Back competition. There was no saving his game, though, and he was sent home by a backdoor during a double eviction week, putting him in 11th place and making him the first member of the jury.

Cliff Hogg (Season 21)

Cliff Hogg became a target early on when a fellow houseguest overheard him explaining his strategy to the camera. He was a Big Brother fan favorite who was evicted early, but despite his week 3 elimination, he managed to fight his way back into the house immediately by winning the Camp Comeback competition. He returned to reunite with friend and ally Nicole Anthony, and they made it to the final four after the rocky start they had. Ultimately, Cliff was sent home by default when Jackson Michie won the final Power of Veto and he was put up on the block, sealing his fate in fourth place.

John McGuire (Season 17)

John McGuire from season 17 had to fight hard in the Big Brother house. He became one of the most nominated houseguests in Big Brother history and set a record after he took himself off the block four times, three by winning the Power of Veto. In week 9, he was put up on the block next to ally Steve Moses and was sent home by unanimous vote. As if he hadn’t worked hard enough to stay in the game, John fought his way back after his eviction by winning the Jury Buyback competition. After returning to the house, he improved his game by laying low and taking the target off his back. That wasn’t enough to win, though. He was sent home on day 91, placing fourth overall.

Nicole Franzel (Season 16)

Nicole Franzel hit many milestones in the Big Brother house competing in seasons 16, 18 and 22. She was put to the test during her first time out, going up for elimination during the first double eviction of the season, which positioned her for an uphill battle. Although she stayed safe that week, it wasn’t long until she was evicted by unanimous vote. However, she won her way back into the house by winning the Jury Buyback competition a week later. She survived for a little while longer, but another unanimous vote sent home during the first half of the second double eviction. She placed seventh and became the fifth member of the jury. Luckily, she had two more seasons to redeem herself.

Judd Daugherty (Season 15)

Judd Daugherty from season 15 was known for his scheming personality, which is why he was nominated for eviction during the second half of a double eviction and sent home by a unanimous vote. After his eviction, he was given the opportunity to compete with three other jury members for a chance to come back into the Big Brother house.

He won his way back into the house by winning the “Off the Wall” endurance competition, Upon re-entering, he became a part of the Exterminator Alliance, which helped secure his spot in the final five. Ultimately, he was evicted in fifth place by a two-to-zero vote.

Brendon Villegas (Season 13)

Brendon Villegas is best known for his memorable Big Brother showmance with Rachel Riley during season 12, then coming back to play with her in season 13 for the duo twist. Brendon and Rachel were a part of the season 13 Veterans alliance with other returning players, but they ultimately were put up on the block by Daniele Donato. After Brendon won the Power of Veto and used it on Rachel, he was sent packing after being evicted by a five-to-two vote. However, he returned the following week when America voted for him to re-enter the game. After that, Daniele once again orchestrated his eviction, and he became the first member of the jury, finishing in ninth place.

Kaysar Ridha (Season 6)

Kaysar Ridha has played three times in Big Brother seasons 6, 7 and 22. During his first season, he formed an extremely close Big Brother friendship with Janelle Pierzina, and they played together again in both of his other two seasons. During season 6, Kaysar and Janelle led a strong alliance called the Sovereign Six, but it wasn’t enough to keep him in the game. He was evicted on day 33 by a vote of seven to one, but America voted for him to return to the game. He was then evicted for a second time after throwing an Head of Household competition to Jennifer Vasquez, only to get betrayed and eliminated in 10th place.

Amy Crews (Season 3)

Amy Crews from Big Brother 3 was evicted early by a unanimous vote at the end of week 3. She was then presented with a chance to return to the game via the first-ever twist that allowed an evicted player back into the house.

The remaining houseguests chose between Amy and Eric Oulette to reurn to the house, and they selected Amy by a five-to-two vote. She won the first Head of Household competition after her return, coming back into the house strong and setting herself up to make it to the final four. Ultimately, she was sent home in fourth place when Jason Guy placed the only vote to evict her.

James Zinkand (Season 9)

James Zinkand from Big Brother 9 was backdoored in week four, but his game wasn’t over. He was let back into the game just moments after being evicted based on the remaining houseguests voting to let him return. While it was a gamble to make it back into the game, he came back strong and took fate into his own hands by winning the next Head of Household competition. He was seen as a threat after winning HOH, then winning three consecutive Power of Veto competitions to secure his safety. After many attempts, the rest of the houseguests finally evicted him once and for all in week eight, putting him in sixth place.
