Big Brother 10 Youngest Houseguests To Play The Game

During Big Brother’s 23rd season that wrapped up earlier this fall, fans were introduced to yet another group of houseguests eager to be Head of Household and strategize their way to the grand prize of $750, 000. With such high stakes, it’s no surprise that the BB game can be pretty emotionally, mentally, and physically taxing.

The challenges of BB are difficult for any houseguests, but some players have graced the Big Brother screen decades younger than some of their competition, making it especially impressive when they do well. Only a few years (or a single year) into adulthood, these players were the youngest to compete.

10 Eddie McGee, BB1 – 21 and almost 5 months

Eddie McGee was on the premiere season of the Big Brother reality show and was the youngest houseguest on his season at 21 years old. Not only was he the youngest competitor, but he was also the first winner of Big Brother, showing that houseguests should never underestimate the younger players.

Nowadays, Eddie is 42 and has had an acting career, appearing in Drop Dead Roses, The Human Race, and God’s Pocket. As BB’s first and only amputee contestant, Eddie continues to supply representation for amputee actors and athletes. In fact, his most iconic scene during his winning Big Brother season was an athletic one: he beat the other houseguests in an amazing sumo wrestling challenge.

9 Carol Journey, BB8 – 21 and 4 months

On the other end of the spectrum, Carol Journey was sadly the first one to go home on her respective season and she was the first female contestant on the show to receive 10 eviction votes in one week. Unlike Eddie’s BB lineup, most of the contestants on BB8 were around Carol’s age, including her in-show rival, Daniele Donato.

Currently, Carol is 35 and a mother to a little boy. She proudly advertises herself as the “Big Brother 8 first evictee” in her Twitter bio (@CarolJourney), and has an executive accounting job for Apple.

8 Ian Terry, BB14 – 21 and 4 months

Continuing the trend of the youngest player winning is Ian Terry, the winner of Big Brother’s 14th season. Ian went on to also appear in BB22, Ian hit some pretty big milestones for the show, being the first houseguest to be born in the ’90s, the youngest winner in the history of the show, and also being the first player to have autism.

Additionally, Ian was the first and only player to open Pandora’s Box twice, and also the player with the most consecutive HOH wins and rounds safe. Now 30, Ian lived up to his title as one of the smartest Big Brother players ever and taught physics in Texas before taking several corporate positions. He recently was chosen to be a part of the U.S. National Backgammon team.

7 Hayden Voss, BB16 – 21 and 3 months

Hayden Voss was another one of these young contestants who were the youngest player for their season. He’s most known for his quick and passionate showmance with fellow houseguest Nicole Franzel. While he didn’t make it very far into the game, earning himself a spot as the second juror, he was one of only 3 people in BB16 to not be evicted unanimously, speaking to how well-liked he was in the house.

Today, Hayden is 28 and a personal trainer and fitness instructor in Chicago. Although he and Nicole are no longer together, they’ve both had relationships since, although Nicole did admit to still being in love with Hayden on BB18, in the midst of her showmance with Corey Brooks.

6 Chelsia Hart, BB9 – 21 and 3 months

Chelsia definitely had a penchant for drama during her time on BB9. When she was evicted, she used her remaining time to have one of the most classless exits from Big Brother, trash-talking the remaining players. To add insult to injury, her supposed soulmate on the show, fellow 21-year-old James Zinkand, voted to evict her in the unanimous decision.

Not much is known about the now 34, hot-headed Hart now. If fans are interested, she has a Twitter account under the username @ChelsiaHart. It is private though, so she would have to accept the follow. She was a German student at the time of filming, and had even studied in Germany.

5 Jennifer “Nakomis” Dedmon, BB5 – 21 and 2 months

Once again, Nakomis was the baby of her Big Brother season in addition to being one of the youngest to ever compete on the show. In an interesting turn of events, she was part of the Project DNA twist and was united with her biological half-brother, Michael Ellis whilst on the show. She didn’t win, but she created the Backdoor Strategy, changing the Big Brother game’s strategy forever, made it onto the jury, and appeared in a subsequent season during BB7.

Nakomis was a waitress before she starred in Big Brother. At age 38, she seems to live a pretty private life. She did, however, do a guest appearance on the Wayne Holtz Podcast in 2017. Her half-brother was just recently on a 2020 episode of Catfish.

4 James Zinkand, BB9 – 21 and 2 months

Serving as the two youngest players to be in a showmance together, James Zinkand is just a bit younger than his counterpart, Chelsia Hart. Like Chelsia, James played in season 9 of the show. As another connection to a fellow member of the youngest players, James was evicted using the Backdoor Strategy created by Nakomis. He later made it back into the Big Brother house after his eviction, winning three HOH competitions and three Power of Vetos, but ultimately was evicted again.

James is currently 34 years old, and after he filmed his season, he biked around the country and even parts of Europe. He lives in New York City now and owns a wine and spirits shop called Misguided Spirits NYC.

3 Hannah Chaddha, BB23 – 21 and 2 months

Hannah is from the show’s most recent season, BB23. Not only is she the third youngest contestant to ever compete, but she’s also the first Indian-American houseguest on BB US. Like Ian Terry, Hannah was the first houseguest to be born in the ’00s. In fact, her birthday was two months before the first episode of Big Brother season 1.

Although she didn’t win her season, she did very well and made it onto the jury. Because this season just completed, not much has changed for Hannah since filming. She’s originally from Chicago, a graduate student, and is active on social media like Twitter (@hannah_chaddha) and Instagram (@hannahchaddha).

2 Daniele Briones (Donato), BB8 – 20

Daniele was the runner-up for season 8 of Big Brother and was actually in the Big Brother house along with her father, Dick Donato. Daniele was the first person to ever win the Power of Veto from all three positions: HOH, a nominee, and as a chosen player. In addition to BB8, Daniele returned for BB13, along with her dad, but only made it to the jury.

After being a contestant, Daniele was on House Call: The Big Brother Talk Show. Fans were rooting for Daniele and Dominic Brione’s showmance, and they were right to–Daniele, 35, is married now to Dominic and the two have a daughter named Tennessee. The family appeared on BB20 to congratulate Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo on their engagement.

1 Michelle Maradie, BB4 – 19

Michelle Maradie, who competed in season 4 of the show, is the youngest player to ever compete in BB US. At only 19 years old, she is the single teenager to be a houseguest, technically under the show’s supposed 21 limit. She was immediately thrown for a loop in the game when she realized her ex-boyfriend was also in the house but still ended up finishing 11th.

After the show, Michelle appeared on an episode of Yes, Dear along with other BB houseguests. Now, age 38, she works in Medical sales, is married, and is a mother to a son named Jagger. Fans can check out her Instagram account for life updates.
