The giant merchandise rollout for Solo: A Star Wars Story is well underway, including a variety of Funko products for fans to add to their collections. As difficult as it is to believe, Lucasfilm’s next blockbuster comes out in a little over a month, meaning there’s precious time left for the promotional campaign. Last night, the studio revved up the marketing machine in a big way with the release of a new trailer and poster, which continues to sell audiences on an old school space adventure film depicting Han’s wild youth. Despite reservations due to the movie’s concept and infamous production woes, the footage has gone a long way in winning people over.

Of course, the film is only the tip of the iceberg. Star Wars is widely known as a merchandising juggernaut, dating all the way back to Kenner’s empty box campaign of 1977. With the premiere of each new installment comes a wave of fresh products, and Solo is no different. One of Lucasfilm’s most famous licensing partners, Funko, has just unveiled what they’ve got in stores.

Funko is offering quite the range of products – from cute Dorbz toys to larger Wobblers figures. The trademark Pop! collection is the most expansive in terms of the characters represented. Of course, principal players like Han, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and Qi’ra received the treatment, as do the new stormtrooper variants. It’s here we also get our best look at Rio Durant, an alien character Jon Favreau is voicing. Based on the footage in the teaser trailer, Rio seems to be a secondary member of Beckett’s crew he puts together for the Conveyex heist. As The Last Jedi’s BB-9E will tell you, just because a character becomes a toy doesn’t mean he or she has a large role in the movie, so it’ll be interesting to see how Rio fits in. Crime boss Dryden Vos (an FYE exclusive) has his intimidating appearance highlighted, as he’s dressed in all-black and has scars over his face.

It’s important to note that this is just the first wave, hitting shelves prior to the movie releases. Once people get a chance to see Solo and spoilers aren’t closely guarded, there will surely be more products that have more freedom to replicate key moments from the film. But there’s no denying this is an impressive start, and people interested in adding more to their Star Wars collections have plenty to choose from here.
