With this in place, every time that the player defeats a boss they will receive some kind of debilitating status effect or more challenging aspects will be added to the game. This means that for every boss that is defeated the game will become noticeably more difficult and the player will have to weigh whether it is better to fight a tough boss earlier or later in the game.
• Dark Souls Input Customizer: One of the more annoying aspects of the original Dark Souls is that it lacked the ability to customize inputs in-game, and the controls were pretty awful. It essentially adds the “SuperHot” mechanic to Dark Souls, which means that enemies will only be able to move or attack when the player does. The faster the player moves then the faster their opponents will. This adds a considerable challenge to the game, but players are also given much more time to think.
