Destiny 2 How To Get The Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher (& Catalyst)

The Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher has made its way to Destiny 2 alongside the 30th Anniversary pack, and players can get the catalyst for the weapon, too. The Gjallarhorn is a returning weapon from the first Destiny that Bungie originally announced would be making an appearance as a key piece of content within the 30th Anniversary pack. Additionally, as powerful as the Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher is, a catalyst for the Exotic can be slotted as well once players unlock it.

Gjallarhorn’s unique perk is the Pack Hunter, which grants players increased handling and reload speed when they’re near allies. Additionally, this perk allows Gjallarhorn to grant nearby allies with Wolfpack Rounds when they wield non-Exotic Rocket Launchers, like the Ascendancy Rocket Launcher in Destiny 2. Wolfpack Rounds are Gjallarhorn’s Exotic intrinsic perk that allows its rounds to be split into tracking cluster missiles upon their detonation.

Before players can grab the Gjallarhorn catalyst they’ll need to first complete the quest that unlocks Gjallarhorn. Speak with Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome to receive the “And Out Fly The Wolves” quest. This quest begins by sending players to complete the new Grasp of Avarice dungeon to collect a Wolfpack round and return it to Shaw Han. Next, players will have to defeat powerful Fallen in the Cosmodrome in order to earn more Wolfpack rounds. Afterward, return the Shaw Han and the immediate next step in the quest is to visit Banshee-44, the Destiny 2 weapons and bounty vendor, in the Tower. Players will then need to head to the Lost Sector Exodus Garden, and then they can construct Gjallarhorn at Shaw Han’s tool bench.

Destiny 2: How To Get The Gjallarhorn Catalyst (& What It Does)

To grab the Gjallarhorn Catalyst players will need to find three Reaver Vandals in the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, damage them, and collect their engram chests. The first Vandal can be found in the cave shortly after beginning the dungeon, and after the enemy has been damaged jump across the ravine to find the first chest on the upper left part of the metal frame. The second Vandal and chest can be found just before the first boss encounter in Destiny 2’s newest dungeon. This Vandal is located inside the room before navigating through the vent, and the second chest is to the right of the vent’s exit and can be accessed by jumping to the first platform and turning around.

The third Vandal and chest can be found just after the Fallen Shield Encounter. Take the launch cannon to the area where the Guardians land in a small body of water on the left and a Fallen hut is on the right. The final Vandal is in the hut compound, and after it has been damaged head back to the center Fallen complex to find the final chest on top of the building. Opening the last chest unlocks “More Wolves,” the Catalyst for Gjallarhorn in Destiny 2.

Like the Ager’s Scepter Catalyst in Destiny 2, the Catalyst for Gjallarhorn allows it to create Orbs of Power whenever players get multikills. The Gjallarhorn Catalyst, specifically, increases the Exotic Rocket Launcher’s magazine size. Additionally, final blows with Gjallarhorn Wolfpack Rounds spawn a faster, more powerful missile at the target’s location.
