Pokémon GO has many items for players to use on their quest to catch them all. Pokéballs to throw at them, berries to make them friendlier, stardust to increase their level. There’s a lot to keep track of, and a lot of resources trainers need to make their team stronger to win battles. With Field Research, players can easily add more items to their bag if they complete the required tasks.

Players obtain field research when the spin Pokéstops, but not gym stops. Each month has different tasks for players to complete paired with a set number of rewards, ranging from rare items to Pokémon encounters. This guide will take a look at which ones are available during October 2020 and what prizes they can give upon completion.

October 2020’s Pokémon GO Field Research

If there are certain tasks players find easy to complete, they can spin the same spot to redo it as much as they need; that Pokéstop will give the same task for an entire day. Additionally, players can only accept a certain number of tasks at a time, so don’t hesitate to discard tasks that seem harder to complete. If a research quest grants a wanted Pokémon, continue spinning the spot that gave it as many times as needed. • Catch 10 Normal Types – 6 razz berries, 5 great balls, 2 pinap berries, 500 stardust
• Catch 3 Ghost Types – A Duskull encounter
• Catch a Dragon Type – A Dratini encounter
• Catching a Ditto – 10 ultra balls, 3 rare candies, 2 golden razz berries, 500 stardust
• Catch 10 With a Weather Boost – 6 razz berries, 5 great balls, 2 pinap berries, 500 stardust
• Catch 3 With a Weather Boost – A Drifloon Encounter.
• Use 3 Berries to Catch Pokémon – 6 razz berries, 5 great balls, 2 pinap berries, 500 stardust, or a Murkrow

Performing Stylish Pokéball Throws

• 3 Great Throws – 5 Pokéballs, 3 razz berries, 1 pinap berry, 200 stardust, a Gastly, Lileep, or Anorith
• 3 Great Throws in a Row – 5 ultra balls, 5 great balls, 3 rare candies, 2 pinap berries, 1000 stardust, or an Onix
• 5 Nice Throws – 5 Pokéballs, 3 razz berries, 1 pinap berry, 200 stardust, or a Voltorb
• 3 Nice Throws in a Row – 5 great balls, 2 ultra balls, 2 pinap berries, 500 stardust
• 1 Excellent Throw – 5 great balls, 2 ultra balls, 2 pinap berries, 500 stardust
• 3 Excellent Throws in a Row – A Larvitar encounter
• 5 Curveball Throws in a Row – 5 great balls, 6 razz berries, 2 pinap berries, 500 stardust
• 2 Nice Curveball Throws in a Row – 5 Pokéballs, 3 razz berries, 1 pinap berry, 200 stardust
• 3 Great Curveball Throws – 10 Pokéballs, 5 ultra balls, 9 razz berries, 3 pinap berries, 1 rare candy, 1,000 stardust
• 3 Great Curveball Throws in a Row – 10 ultra balls, 3 rare candies, 2 razz berries, 1,500 stardust
• 5 Great Curveball Throws in a Row – A Spinda encounter

Winning Battles

• Win a Raid – 10 nanab berries, 4 revives, 3 super potions, or a Litwick.
• Win 5 Raids – An Aerodactyl encounter
• Win a Level 3 (or higher) Raid – 3 hyper potions, 1 rare candy, 1 max revive, 1000 stardust, an Omanyte, or a Kabutops
• Win a GO League Battle – An Anorith encounter
• Beat 2 GO Rocket Grunts – A Sableye encounter

Interacting with Pokémon and Friends

• Send 3 Gifts to Friends – A Woobat encounter
• Trade a Pokémon – A Misdreavus encounter
• Transfer 3 Pokémon to Professor Willow – An Alolan Rattata encounter
• Take a Snapshot of a Fighting Type – A Mankey encounter
• Hatch an Egg – 5 Pokéballs, 3 razz berries, 1 pinap berry, 200 stardust, or a Yamask
• Earn 5 Hearts with a Buddy Pokémon – 2 silver pinap berries
• Obtain 3 Candy Walking with a Buddy – A Stunfisk encounter
• Give 3 Treats to a Buddy – A Stunky encounter
• Evolve 1 Pokémon – An Eevee or Haunter encounter
• Power up a Pokémon 5 Times – Either a Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, or 10 Mega Beedrill energy
• Use 10 Pokéstops or Gym Stops – 5 Pokéballs, 3 razz berries, 1 pinap berry
