Every Upcoming Scott Adkins Movie

Scott Adkins is now recognized is one of the world’s biggest martial arts stars, and he has several upcoming action movies on the way. Across the movie-making industry, recent global events have caused numerous problems for multiple releases, resulting in delays and disruptions for many projects. Despite these difficulties, however, fans of Adkins’ career of pushing action movies higher and higher still have plenty to anticipate.

Adkins first began to draw attention with his breakout role as Yuri Boyka in Undisputed 2: Last Man Standing, with the movie turning him into a rising action star, and Adkins reprising the role in Undisputed 3: Redemption and Boyka: Undisputed. Adkins would subsequently become one of the titans of the increasingly mainstream straight-to-video action movie scene, while also showing his incredible talents in theatrical blockbusters like Doctor Strange and overseas action films like Wu Jing’s Wolf Warrior. While the COVID-19 pandemic required major adaptations by the film industry, Adkins kept busy in 2020 and 2021, launching his YouTube interview series The Art of Action. Adkins also completed action films like the Dolph Lundgren-directed Castle Falls and the single-take movie One Shot, both of which debuted in 2021.

While Adkins’ filmography as a leading man has mostly been in the straight-to-video arena, the standards he’s set there and impact he’s made on action films more generally are establishing 2022 as possibly one of his biggest years ever. Adkins has four action movies on the way in the immediate future, each one bringing a lot to the table, along with Adkins being a key player in some major ensembles. Here’s all of Scott Adkins’ upcoming movies.

Additionally, Day Shift will also mark the directorial debut of veteran stunt man J.J. “Loco” Perry. A martial arts champion before getting into movies, Perry has worked as a stunt man, stunt coordinator, and fighter choreographer on action movies like 1995’s Mortal Kombat, The Rundown, The Fate of the Furious, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and many others. He’s also worked with Adkins before on films like Boyka’s one movie as antagonist, Undisputed 2 and The Tournament. While Day Shift doesn’t have a release date yet, the synopsis of the movie indicates it’ll be putting a comedic spin on vampire hunting.

Section Eight

Directed by Christian Sesma, Section Eight sees an incarcerated ex-soldier busted out of prison and pulled into a government mission. Not much else is known about the story of Section Eight, but the movie is set to re-team Adkins with Dolph Lundgren. Adkins and Lundgren’s past collaborations include, but aren’t limited to, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, The Expendables 2, and the aforementioned Castle Falls.

Other players in Section Eight include Dermot Mulroney, Mickey Rourke, Paul Sloan, Ryan Kwanten, and Justin Furstenfeld of the band Blue October, with the movie marking his film debut. Adkins’ role in Section Eight hasn’t yet been revealed, while a release date also hasn’t been announced. Still, as Adkins’ latest team-up with Rocky IV’s boxing antagonist Lundgren, Section Eight will surely be an action film many fans are looking forward to.

John Wick: Chapter 4

Every Upcoming Scott Adkins Movie

John Wick: Chapter 4 is one of the most hotly-anticipated action movies of 2022, in no small part due to Scott Adkins’ involvement. At the end of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, John (Keanu Reeves) has been excommunicated from the Continental and betrayed by his friend Winston (Ian McShane). This leads him to form an alliance with the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) to go to war against the assassin world’s overseers, the High Table.

Scott Adkins will seemingly play a character named Killa in John Wick 4, though whether he’s an ally of John’s or if Adkins is one of the movie’s villains remains to be seen. Adkins will also be joined in John Wick 4 by his co-star from Ip Man 4: The Finale, Donnie Yen, who will reportedly portray a friend of John’s. Additionally, Hiroyuki Sanada and Marko Zaror will also be seen in John Wick 4, and the four of them together ensure that the movie will be packed with plenty of the martial arts battles mixed with gun-fu that the franchise is famous for. With other new additions to the series including Bill Skarsgard, Shamier Anderson, and Clancy Brown along with Chad Stahelski directing again, John Wick 4 is set to arrive in theaters on May 27, 2022.

Accident Man 2

The British comic Accident Man, originally featured in the comic book series Toxic!, made the leap to movies in 2018, with Accident Man 2 having now wrapped production. In Accident Man, Adkins portrayed the movie’s assassin anti-hero Mike Fallon, a snarkier equal to John Wick whose talent for disguising killings as accidents earns him his nickname, and who embarks on a mission to uncover the identity of his pregnant ex-girlfriend’s killer. Accident Man 2 sees Fallon protecting the son of a crime boss targeted for assassination, while also trying to re-connect with a mysterious father figure from his past and save a friend.

Helmed by frequent Adkins’ director Jesse V. Johnson, Accident Man was populated by other martial artists like Michael Jai White, Ray Park, and Amy Johnston. Under directing duo George and Harry Kirby, Accident Man 2 will continue that with Beau Fowler, Sarah Chang, Zara Phythian, and Andy Long Nguyen of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team joining the cast, with Nguyen also the film’s fight choreographer. Additionally, Ray Stevenson and Perry Benson will also reprise their roles from the original as Big Ray and Finnicky Fred. Given its source material, Accident Man was as much a black comedy as an action movie, and Accident Man 2 will undoubtedly continue with the first film’s tongue-in-cheek tone and sense of humor. Accident Man 2 doesn’t have an announced release date yet, but viewers can likely expect it in 2022, and with Adkins also returning as producer and co-writer once more, it definitely ranks high in anticipation in the upcoming movies of Scott Adkins’ action-packed career.
