Fall Guys How to Survive HexAGone Mode (Tips Tricks & Strategies)

The ultimate goal in most Fall Guys game modes is to not necessarily win, but survive each round; just don’t be the loser, and you’ll be successful. But there can only be one winner in a Fall Guy match, and that’s decided in the final round. There are a few different types of final game modes already, with more possibly coming in the future one day, but one that players might experience the most is Hex-A-Gone.

As Hex-A-Gone can only be played as a finale, only the best players that survive each round will be able to play it. The goal of this game mode is to survive the longest, and in this case, that means not falling off the map. There are several layers of hexagon platforms for players to land on, but every time one of the Hexagon’s is stepped on, it disappears. Players that are able to survive the floor beneath them disappearing constantly will be the victor. But when there’s 10 other players, all wanting to win themselves, running over all the hexagons, that can be a real challenge. This guide will look at tips for success in Fall Guys’ Hex-A-Gone mode, so players can take home the crown.

Fall Guy’s Hex-A-Gone Survival Guide

Before the match starts, all players will be stuck on a single tile. The moment the match begins, these tiles disappear. While each individual player has their own tile, there are a few others at that same elevation. To maintain their higher-up position, many players might all jump to land on the unclaimed tiles. However, doing so may be bait. As several players jump towards the same tile, they’ll all end up in the same location on the bottom floor. This results in the area below unclaimed tiles being more congested, resulting in more tiles in that area disappearing. While it could be advantageous to remain higher up a little longer, consider jumping down immediately to avoid that crowd of other players. That way, one could gain their footing more quickly and have an easier time knowing what hexagons to avoid.

After falling from the start, players need to multitask several objectives at once. The first is most straightforward: not falling to the lower level. Falling to the very bottom results in a loss, after all. But this is difficult for a number of reasons, and why juggling several tasks is needed to win Hex-A-Gone. Tiles can only be stepped on once, so players can never retrace their steps. They must be continually running and jumping to avoid any gaps so that they can remain their current elevation as long as possible. Running along the exterior of that hex level in a circle, and slowly easing inward, will help players conserve the platforms as long as possible. In a perfect world, they’ll be able to do that, but with other players making their own gaps in the floor, the strategy needs to change to adapt to those issues. If a player running the exterior needs to move more inward, a gap in the way will prevent them from doing so. When one happens to see another player running the exterior, create a path in such a way that it cuts them off from reaching safer ground. Then, they’ll be forced to go to the lower level. To avoid this scenario as someone running along the end, always be on the lookout for other players, and cut in to avoid them from cutting of any openings. Be very mindful of what tiles have been taken, and think out a safe of a route as possible. Don’t forget, even if hexagons aren’t connected directly to one another, players can still jump, or dive, to them. Be wary when diving though, because players may not have enough time to get back up before the hexagon beneath them disappears.

Eventually, no matter how conservative players are with the hexagons, they will eventually have to move down to the next level. When they do so, players shouldn’t blindly just drop down. They need to actively consider what part of the next level they should drop down to. If they don’t they may fall into an area that’s already vanished, and fall through that level entirely. To avoid this, players need to keep track of what lower levels are still intact, and plan a route to that level. Of course, don’t simply drop down; jump, so that more fall distance can be covered and areas further away can be reached. If players mess up during the transition to the next level below, they could trip up and plummet all the way to the bottom: elimination.
