Far Cry 6 Changes An Iconic Jurassic Park Line

Far Cry 6 references the beloved movie series Jurassic Park with Mesozoico Park, one attraction players can gain access to on the island of Yara. This theme park is part of the Special Operations missions players will be able to attempt later in the game. Interacting with the information terminal towards the park’s entrance will play an automated introduction speech concluding with the phrase, “Welcome to Mesozoic Park!”

Mesozoico Park in Far Cry 6 features imitation dinosaurs rather than the resurrected biological dinosaurs displayed at Jurassic Park. This park is also dilapidated and abandoned, save for Castillo’s forces that are guarding a chemical weapon. Notices are posted about the park initially being closed down for repairs, but they also say the park will reopen as soon as the repairs are completed.

Far Cry 6 has many hidden easter eggs like this one that are discoverable around Yara. Players can find things like an auction list that includes infamous past Assassin’s Creed weapons and mentions of the Apples of Eden. References to the upcoming Netflix series inspired by Far Cry 3’s expansion Blood Dragon can also be discovered.

Famous Jurassic Park Line Referenced In Far Cry 6

One of the most well-known scenes in the movie Jurassic Park features John Hammond delivering the iconic line, “Welcome to Jurassic Park!” which then leads straight into the renowned orchestral theme fans associate with the title. This moment comes right after Alan and Ellie get to meet their first living dinosaur, a brachiosaurus, and already seem overwhelmed at the sight of it. Dr. Hammond makes his introductions before the famous view of the landscape where Alan gets to make his first scientific observation on living dinosaurs, “They do move in herds.”

Mesozoico Park is one of the Special Operations settings that players may optionally undertake in Far Cry 6. PG-240X, a military-grade chemical weapon created by Castillo’s military, ended up within the abandoned theme park after one of their helicopters were shot down. This weapon must be secured and transported elsewhere to favor the revolution, though it is unstable and must be kept cool during this transport. Fortunately, Mesozoico Park has many thematic water fountains that can be used to cool the weapon.

The Jurassic Park movies are named for the dinosaur-filled Jurassic period of earth’s history, occurring roughly 200 million to 145 million years ago. This period was characterized by an abundance of life and a warm climate, with no ice caps yet present at the poles, though not every dinosaur in Jurassic Park actually lived. Mesozoico Park from Far Cry 6 is likely named in reference to the Mesozoic era, which is comprised of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. This era is often referred to as the ‘age of reptiles’ as this era started and ended with the reign of dinosaurs.
