Final Fantasy XIV How to Get Qiqirn Brown Dye

The world of Final Fantasy XIV houses an unquestionably colorful community, with well over 100 clothing dyes to choose from, and one of these pigments is the Qiqirn Brown Dye, which turns gear a unique tint of hazel. Unlike common armor chromas that players can purchase from NPC vendors within the major starting cities, the Qiqirn Brown Dye is obtained by interacting with one of the Beast Tribes in Final Fantasy XIV.

While it is possible for players to buy Qiqirn Brown Dye from the market board, there’s no telling how much other players will charge for the uncommon pigment. Some may sell it for thousands of Gil, but this price could be much higher, especially on the more populated servers. So, those wishing not to spend their hard-earned Gil on the Final Fantasy XIV market board must earn it through traditional methods.

To get the Qiqirn Brown Dye in Final Fantasy XIV, players will need to become acquainted with the Sylphs, the Beast Tribe of the Black Shroud. These adorable, doll-like forest fairies are a part of the MSQ in the “A Realm Reborn” storyline. Only after the player has reached Level 42 and completed the side quest “Seeking Solace” can they begin a relationship with the tribe.

The “Seeking Solace” sidequest will become available after finishing the prerequisite Final Fantasy XIV main story quest, “In Pursuit of the Past.” Once “Seeking Solace” is complete, players must fulfill the “Voyce of Concern” quest to unlock Beast Tribe quests for the Sylphs.

Players can only complete a limited number of daily Sylph quests, depending on their reputation rank. As the Beast Tribe Reputation Rank increases, so do the rewards, with Rank 3, Friendly, granting players Sylphic Goldleaves for completing quests. The reputation rank of Friendly requires 510 reputation points, meaning it may take several days or even weeks depending on the player’s commitment to aiding the Sylphs with their cause.

After the player’s reputation rank with the Sylphs reaches Friendly, they are able to earn and trade Sylphic Goldleaves, a special currency used by the Sylphic Vendor. This trader can be found at x:22.3, y:26.3 in the Little Solace region of East Shroud. A single pot of Qiqirn Brown Dye costs Sylphic Goldleaf x1. After reaching Rank 3, players can purchase as many pots of Qiqirn Brown Dye as they please in Final Fantasy XIV, as long as they have enough Sylphic Goldleaves.
