Xinyan is one of the newest playable characters to come to Genshin Impact. She’s a Pyro user with fire-based attacks, who’s also a rockstar in Liyue. While she uses her instrument in some attacks, her main weapon is a claymore. Genshin Impact’s Xinyan is great for DPS and absorbing damage with shields like a tank, and her best character builds should reflect that.

Xinyan is a brand-new character added to Genshin Impact alongside Zhongli. While Zhongli is the banner character that’s front and center, both are available through the new Gentry of Hermitage Wish. This means players will need luck and a lot of Primogems to get Xinyan or Zhongli, although their pull rates are currently increased during this Wish’s event period.

Genshin Impact’s Xinyan’s skills may be fire-based, but most of her damage comes from Normal and Charged Attacks. As one of the many characters added since release, Xinyan is very powerful compared to earlier characters. The best Artifacts and weapons for Xinyan in Genshin Impact should boost her ATK stats, so that she can crank out as much damage as possible.

Best Artifacts & Weapons For Xinyan In Genshin Impact

Much like Noelle and other tank-like characters in Genshin Impact, Xinyan has shields which can protect her from taking damage. However, Xinyan’s best build in Genshin Impact and her primary focus should be on dealing damage – with protection being secondary. The best Artifacts for Xinyan are from the Gladiator’s Finale set, since two pieces will increase her ATK by 18%. Having four pieces from the Gladiator’s Finale set equipped will grant Xinyan a 35% regular ATK DMG boost since she uses claymores in battle.

Similar to Genshin Impact’s 4-star character Razor, the ideal weapon for Xinyan’s best build in Genshin Impact is the Wolf’s Gravestone. This 5-star claymore will add 20% to Xinyan’s attacks, and if the enemy has less than 30% health left, then everyone in the party gets their ATK stats raised by 40%. The Bloodstained Greatsword is a 3-star weapon and far more common, though, and it works pretty well with Xinyan. This claymore increase DMG to enemies affected by Pyro by up to 24%. This can be especially effective for Xinyan, since she’s a Pyro user.

Xinyan and Zhongli are both presumably the last characters to be included from the Genshin Impact 1.1 update. While future characters are coming soon in the 1.2 update, the attention right now is on Xinyan and Zhongli, especially since Xinyan can fill a powerful DPS role and has some great Pyro and shield skills. With the right character build, Xinyan can be a great member of any team in Genshin Impact.
