How to SetUp (& Play) Hitman 3 in VR

Hitman 3 is the most recent installment in the Hitman franchise and the third leg of its most recent storyline. Agent 47 has proven himself to be one of the most skilled bounty hunters of all time. Surprisingly, he has yet to appear in Fortnite’s latest hunter-themed season alongside Predator and The Mandalorian.

Hitman has thrived on being at the forefront of strategic stealth gameplay. Agent 47 has traveled to every end of the earth in search of high-value targets to kill. He’s used a vast array of weapons and environmental hazards to complete his contracts and keep himself alive. Most notably are some high-powered, silenced sniper rifles. Now, players can see through the eyes of our mysterious hitman, Agent 47, in Hitman 3 VR. Here’s everything you need to know in terms of setting it up and getting started.

Hitman 3 VR – How to Set it Up

How to SetUp (& Play) Hitman 3 in VR

Unfortunately for Oculus and Valve Index owners, Hitman 3 VR is only playable with PlayStation’s VR Equipment. Perhaps the future will see Hitman 3 VR come to PC in which 3rd-party VR gear will be usable. Players will not be using PS Move controllers to play Hitman 3 VR. They will instead use a DualShock 4 controller as they’d play any other game. Hitman utilizes the light sensors on both the PS VR Headset and the DualShock controller. Some players may find this helpful; others may find it odd.

Players will want to be playing Hitman 3 VR in a dimly lit room to get optimized use out of the PS light sensors. Players will still perform various motion actions with the controller, such as reaching out and grabbing objects. Make sure the play-area is clear of obstructions or breakables.

Hitman 3 VR – Gameplay

The good news is that Hitman 3 VR is an extension of Hitman 3 and not a standalone title. Players can important different missions and areas from Hitman 1 & 2 and play them again in full VR.

Before jumping into a mission, it is highly recommended that players complete the VR tutorials. The controls will take some getting used to as players are looking around with their head, but ultimately controlling Agent 47 with the DualShock Controller. Once out of the tutorial, players will have free reign to play every Hitman mission, across all three games, in full VR.

Visually, it can be a little silly at times as Agent 47’s hands can tangle, and his arms make erratic motions. However, this is to be expected in any VR game. The technology is cutting edge, but it’s not the thing of Sci/Fi films… not yet, at least. Hitman 3 VR will not be for everybody. Some players, especially those without PS VR gear, will be pleased playing the base game the way it was designed. For those looking for a brand new Hitman experience, perhaps VR is the answer to those prayers.
