Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates the Strode women with three images from behind the scenes of Halloween Kills. Curtis has had an incredible journey with the long-running slasher franchise. She first appeared in John Carpenter’s original Halloween film from 1978 as Laurie Strode, a high-school student who becomes the target of the serial killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Curtis returned for the 1981 sequel and 1998’s Halloween H20, followed by a cameo appearance in 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection. However, none of these sequels were able to recapture the magic of Carpenter’s original film.

After countless sequels and a reboot attempt by Rob Zombie, the franchise went back to square one with 2018’s Halloween, a direct sequel to the original 1978 film that essentially ignored everything that came after it. The film finds Laurie living in fear of Michael, still haunted by the night she was attacked by him forty years ago. This puts a strain on her relationships with her daughter, Karen (Judy Greer), and granddaughter, Allyson (Andi Matichak), though they eventually heed her warnings that Michael is preparing to go on a new killing spree.

Now, Jamie Lee Curtis is honoring the Strode women with three behind-the-scenes images from Halloween Kills. The photos show Curtis with both Greer and Matichak, who are all returning to reprise their roles in the sequel releasing on October 15. In her post, Curtis says Greer and Matichak “deserve so much attention and appreciation” and have her “gratitude and respect,” while also coining the hashtag #STRODESTRONG. Check out her post below:

Given that these photos were taken behind the scenes while the cameras weren’t rolling, they don’t reveal much about the plot of the upcoming Halloween film. However, Curtis does say it will be “centered around the Strode Women and the generational effects of trauma,” just like 2018’s Halloween. The last time the Strode trio was seen they were hitching a ride in a stranger’s truck after trapping Michael in a burning house.

Based on promotional material for Halloween Kills, it appears the film will pick up right there. Those who stuck around for the last film’s post-credits scene would know that Michael escaped from the burning rubble alive, though that wasn’t surprising in the slightest. David Gordon Green’s new trilogy has developed the three Strode women as strong protagonists, so it will be interesting to see if they are able to defeat Michael and make it out alive by the end of the final installment, Halloween Ends.
