Jurassic World 3 Set Photo Teases Alan Grant & Ellie Sattler’s Reunion

A new set photo from Jurassic World: Dominion teases Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler’s (Laura Dern) reunion. Dominion began production earlier this year, but it wasn’t long before work had to be suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic. At the time, director Colin Trevorrow continued editing work remotely. Physical production picked up again last month with strict coronavirus regulations. Soon after, there were rumors that things had been delayed once more, but Universal swiftly debunked them and insisted work is ongoing. As of right now, Dominion is still set for release in June 2021.

Dominion will mark the end of an era, as it stands to be the last Jurassic World film. In addition to wrapping up the story that was set up in 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Dominion will revisit the franchise’s Jurassic Park origins in several ways. The film will see the return of secondary villain Lewis Dodgson (now played by Campbell Scott), but more importantly, it will bring back the core trio of Grant, Sattler, and Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). The three Jurassic Park stars will have substantial roles in the film, which is more than Goldblum received in his brief Fallen Kingdom appearance.

Earlier this week, Neill shared he would be heading to the Dominion set to begin filming this scenes, and it appears Dern is joining him. Dern shared a photo of two chairs with the names “Dr. Ellie Sattler” and “Dr. Alan Grant” sitting side by side along with the message, “Day one. Hello old friend.” This means the two have officially reunited for the first time since 2001’s Jurassic Park III.

This week has been a fruitful one for exciting Dominion reunions, as yesterday Neill shared a photo of his iconic Jurassic Park hat. Dominion is clearly going back to its roots with the intention to culminate this story in a truly epic way. Fans are certainly excited to see Neill, Dern, and Goldblum back in action, and it’ll be interesting to see how they interact with Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Exactly what brings the trio back into the fray remains to be seen, but it’s probably fair to say the threat of dinosaurs being let loose in the world is enough to get everyone in on the action.

Indeed, much of Dominion’s plot is so far being kept under wraps, but set photos have teased a trip to the Arctic. Fallen Kingdom left off with dinosaurs running wild in the outside world, and it’s all but guaranteed that they will wreak some serious havoc. Dominion is shaping up to be a very action-packed adventure, and fans are likely excited to see it all come together.
