LEGO Breath Of The Wild Lynel Has Strong Bionicle Energy

One innovative fan has recreated a fearsome Lynel from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild entirely out of LEGO, resulting in a model reminiscent of LEGO’s Bionicle toy line, popular in the early 2000s. Even though it has been out for over four years now, the latest Zelda game is still inspiring many fans to create BOTW homages that serve as testaments to the title’s enduring quality.

Breath of the Wild’s vast map is home to many characters and creatures, from the rock-loving Gorons to the aquatic Zora. While these are amiable towards Link, others seek to do harm to the Hylian hero. Breath of the Wild’s Lynel enemies are truly dangerous, a species of overworld boss that roams many plains within the kingdom. These titans of Hyrule show no mercy and can easily overpower players not properly equipped to take them on.

This does not mean Lynels are not a cherished part of the Breath of the Wild, however. In fact, many fans have dedicated their time to producing fan art of the Lynels since the game’s release. Redditor Gamma-Raay recently shared their take on this BOTW enemy: a LEGO sculpture that exudes the same energy as the Bionicle line, which put LEGO back on the map after a sales slump of the late ’90s. Gamma-Raay’s creation is fittingly impressive and imposing, with the LEGO Lynel sporting the iconic Lynel Sword and Bow, as well as some Shock Arrows.

It is yet to be revealed if Lynels will make a return in Breath of the Wild’s sequel, as they have not been seen in any of the trailers so far. Other overworld enemies have appeared in BOTW 2, such as Bokoblins and Stone Taluses, so it is a fair assumption that some form of Lynel will once again terrify players in the upcoming title.

Nintendo is keeping its cards close to its chest when it comes to the so-called Breath of the Wild 2, which doesn’t actually have an official title. The game’s most recent trailer left fans with even more questions than it answered; the inclusion of islands in the skies above Hyrule, for instance, led many to draw parallels to Skyward Sword, the first canonical title in the Zelda series. Hopefully, Nintendo will announce more about Breath of the Wild’s sequel (including a solid release date) soon.
