New Donk City was a fantastic addition to Mario Golf: Super Rush, and here’s hoping it’s just the first of many new courses based on classic locales.

Mario Golf: Super Rush, the newest sports title to feature the characters from the Mario franchise, has been out for a couple months now. The game has a lot to offer, and even more is coming as the game has recently received the first of what is hopefully many updates that add new content to the game.

One of the things that was added to the video game after it released was a new course, New Donk City, which originally appeared in Super Mario Odyssey a few years ago. This has fans wondering what locations from other Mario games could *and hopefully will) become golf courses.

10 Bob-Omb Battlefield Is A Classic Course From Super Mario 64

Bob-Omb Battlefield is the first place players go to in Super Mario 64, with the exception of Peach’s Castle since that was the hub world. On this course, players were able to fight against King Bob-Omb a couple of times, race with Koopa the Quick, free Chain Chomp, and more.

Not only would this make a great golf course due to the actual design of the area, but King Bob-Omb is even one of the playable characters in Mario Golf: Super Rush. It would be great to see Bob-Omb Battlefield in a completely new perspective.

9 Lake Lapcat Is The Biggest Single Location In A Mario Game So Far

Lake Lapcat is the setting of Bowser’s Fury, which released earlier this year. This is the biggest level in any of the Super Mario titles, giving fans hope that there will eventually be a huge, open-world game in the franchise, something that Odyssey teased but only in smaller doses.

There are a lot of small islands around Lake Lapcat, and it would be cool to see each of them be turned into a hole on a Lake Lapcat golf course.

8 Luncheon Kingdom Was One Of Super Mario Odyssey’s Most Interesting Areas

Seeing as how New Donk City has become a golf course in the game, it would be great to see other kingdoms from Super Mario Odyssey be added as well.

The Luncheon Kingdom was one of the most unique in the game, with a lot of food and strange creatures inhabiting the land. This would probably be one of the most difficult areas if it became a golf course due to how much pink lava surrounds, creating the potential for many stroke penalties.

7 Yoshi’s Island Is One Of The Most Iconic Settings In Mario’s Universe

Yoshi’s Island is one of the most popular locations in the franchise, being in both Mario and Yoshi games, including the classic SNES game that was named after the area.

This is where Yoshi first met Mario and Luigi (ignoring the many continuity errors that retcon opened up), helping the brothers out when they were infants. It was even a course in the original Mario Golf so it would be great to see it return in the newest installment of the series.

6 Lost Kingdom Was Another Unique Place In Super Mario Odyssey

Another interesting location from Super Mario Odyssey was the Lost Kingdom. Similar to Luncheon Kingdom, the area is surrounded by poison, which could be used to make a golf course based on it quite difficult.

The tropical wigglers there could also make a difficult obstacle. If Nintendo would want to make some holes harder than the ones that are already in the game, the Lost Kingdom gives them a great opportunity to do so.

5 Cool, Cool Mountain Would Be A Cool, Cool Course To Add

Another classic location from Super Mario 64 is Cool, Cool Mountain, which would make a great frozen golf course— especially in Speed Golf as players would slide while racing to get to their balls.

Holes could be based on both the outside of the mountain, as well as the slide inside of it, where players were able to race against a penguin. Maybe this course could even use snow balls instead of golf balls, seeing as how there was a level in which players had to make one bigger and bring it to a snowman. Cool, Cool Mountain would be a great present for fans during the holidays.

4 Ruined Kingdom Was One Of The Darkest Places Mario Ever Went

One last place from Super Mario Odyssey that would make an awesome golf course is Ruined Kingdom. Unfortunately, Mario didn’t spend much time here before, as this was one of the smaller kingdoms in the game.

However, it’s also one of the most memorable since he had to fight a terrifying dragon there, shocking many fans. Maybe that dragon could even be incorporated into the course somehow.

3 Luigi’s Mansion Would Be A Very Spooky Course

As many fans know, Luigi has come a long way since his introduction as little more than a palette-swapped Mario used for multiplayer. He has his own game series, Luigi’s Mansion, that players enjoy a lot, so it would be really cool to see at least one of the locations from the series become a golf course.

After all, it has already been featured in other sports games, such as some of the Mario Kart titles and Mario Power Tennis. If Nintendo plans to give fans some more content around Halloween, this should definitely be it.

2 Isle Delfino Is A Favorite Locale For Mario Spin-Off Games

Isle Delfino is the main setting of Super Mario Sunshine, where Mario originally wanted to go to on vacation but ended up helping the Piantas by cleaning it after Bowser Jr. messed it up.

It has become one of the most popular areas in the franchise, with fans wanting to see it in other games. While it has been included in Mario Kart titles, Mario Power Tennis, Fortune Street, and more, it has never been a golf course. Maybe it finally can be in Mario Golf: Super Rush.

1 Rainbow Road Could Be Just As Great In This Game As It Is In Mario Kart

Rainbow Road is one of the most iconic tracks in the Mario Kart games, having many different versions throughout the series and always serving as the final course for each game.

Whether a golf course based on it took inspiration from a specific version of Rainbow Road, had a hole based on each one, or was completely original but just as fun, players would be thrilled to see it come into Mario Golf: Super Rush.
