Mario Golf: Super Rush Removed a Daisy Voice Line & Fans Want It Back

Princess Daisy’s personality has taken a bit of a hit in the latest Mario Golf: Super Rush update, leaving many fans confused and unhappy.

A voice line spoken by Daisy (one of Nintendo’s most beloved princesses) has been removed from Mario Golf: Super Rush – much to the disgruntlement of fans. Daisy made her video game debut in 1989’s Super Mario Land and has made several other appearances in Nintendo games ever since.

Daisy is often portrayed as a much more tomboyish Nintendo princess than Peach. Her personality also often comes with a touch more sass than Peach, and she has been credited with having a strong athletic prowess. This makes her a fan favorite for Mario games such as Mario Kart and Mario Tennis. However, fans who often choose to play as Daisy in the latest addition to the Mario Golf series – Mario Golf: Super Rush – have noticed that a recent update has replaced one of the princess’ playful lines for something a little less punchy.

The most recent update for Mario Gold: Super Rush saw the addition of Toadette as a playable character, a new Ranked Match mode, and the brand-new course New Donk City. While these have all been welcome updates to the game, Nintendo also took this opportunity to switch Daisy’s famous “Whatever” quip that she says whenever she gets a bogey to simply that of “Boo.” Twitter user EdwardSabaVO shared just what the new voice line for Daisy now sounds like, and it is definitely missing some of the Princess’ trademark sass.

Made a video about Daisy’s sassy voice clips being gone from Super Rush….hopefully Nintendo will change it back, which I doubt 🙄😒 #PrincessDaisy #MarioGolf #MarioGolfSuperRush pic.twitter.com/zQxd1rHlMH

This has, understandably, left many fans unhappy, with several hoping that Nintendo will change the wording back to the original in the future. It is unclear exactly why Nintendo felt the need to change this line of dialogue in Mario Golf: Super Rush. After all, “Whatever” is hardly something that many would take great offence to. However, the company clearly did what it felt was right, even though fans aren’t best pleased by the results.

Nintendo is surely aware of the comments that have been made after its latest update to Mario Golf: Super Rush. Whether or not it chooses to do anything about the displeasure fans feel after the change in Daisy’s line remains to be seen, although it is unlikely that it will do anything. While it certainly is a shame to see Daisy’s personality being somewhat dampened down, it is hardly a game-breaking bug that impacts the gameplay.
