There are plenty of phenomenal new series arriving on Netflix this month, from new seasons of Queer Eye and Stranger Things to the final season of Orange Is The New Black. But with every new month’s batch of arrivals on the streaming service comes a batch of departures. This July, fans will be bidding farewell to plenty of comedies, from true classics to more recent offerings, several dramas, and more. These are the best of the best of the movies and shows to catch up on before they leave for good.
10 Blood Diamond
Leonardo DiCaprio stars in this 2006 offering about diamond smuggling in the war zones of Sierra Leone. As well as all the usual action-packed chases, shootings, and human drama that fans would expect, Blood Diamond is also known for drawing attention to the impact of the diamond industry on the countries where these precious stones are mined. Definitely not one to watch if you’ve just splashed out on some new jewelry… but one to watch before you buy diamonds again.

9 Chasing Amy
The 1997 comedy is a Kevin Smith classic – but one that gets a little more serious than some of his better-known stoner offerings. Still hilarious, and starring Ben Affleck and Jason Lee, Chasing Amy follows two best friends and comic book creators… and the chaos that enters their lives when they meet another comic artist: Alyssa.
One of the pair immediately falls for her, but when he discovers that she is gay, things start to get complicated. Don’t expect comedy at the expense of the LGBT community, though, this is a film that is surprisingly sensitive, especially given that it was released over twenty years ago.

8 Did You Hear About The Morgans?
For those who devoured the recently release Murder Mystery, and are looking for another light, married-couple-accidental-crime offering, check out Did You Hear About The Morgans. Starring Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker, this funny flick centers on an estranged married couple – who end up stuck together in the Witness Protection program. It’s an unlikely set up for a rom com, but it does everything that you would expect.

7 The Matrix
The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions are all leaving Netflix on the first of the month, so it’s the perfect time for a quick binge-watch of this sci-fi trilogy. With Keanu Reeves as the man of the moment, everyone should be re-watching one of his most famous roles before it disappears.

6 The Mummy
Another trilogy leaving Netflix this month is the Mummy franchise: The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor are all on the way out at the start of the month. While not the same kind of smash hit as the Matrix films, The Mummy trilogy is a brilliantly fun romp through ridiculous archeology, ancient curses, and Egyptian legend. Campy, crazy, and just kinda hilarious, Brendan Fraser shines, and this is the perfect trilogy for a night in front of the TV.

5 Wedding Crashers
More comedy to keep you laughing (until July 2nd, that is). Wedding Crashers stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as womanizing best friends who have the ideal way to get laid over the summer: head to every wedding they can, invited or not, and hook up with strangers, drunk on love and free champagne. The plan works, until they meet two women that change everything… especially when one thinks that his new girl might be the one.

4 Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
Disney is slowly but surely removing all its content from Netflix ahead of the launch of its own competitor site, Disney +, and the latest casualty of the move is Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The most recent installment in the franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales failed to live up to the hype of the original three films (or even the fourth), but is still worth a watch for die-hard fans. And while a reboot of the franchise has been in development for a little while, it seems to be foundering – so this may even be the last in the series.

3 The Immigrant
For those who can’t wait to see Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, there’s still time to check him out in the 2013 drama The Immigrant. This film-festival gem stars Phoenix alongside Jeremy Renner and Marion Cotillard, and tells the story of a woman arriving in New York in 1921. Tricked into working in burlesque, she struggles to save her sick sister, stuck on Ellis Island, with the help of a charming magician.

2 American Gangster
This Oscar-Nominated drama is based (in part) on the true story of Frank Lucas, a Harlem drug lord. The perfect film for fans of classic gangster movies, American Gangster brings together cops, the Mafia, and Lucas himself – and draws parallels between the morality of those on both sides of the law. Set in the ’60s and ’70s, this is a brilliant look at the changing crime scene in New York city, and is a must-see for anyone who loves films like Goodfellas and The Godfather.

1 Pretty Little Liars (Season 1-7)
Finally, the entire run of Pretty Little Liars is on the way out as well. This hugely popular teen series is seven seasons long, but thankfully, it’s not leaving until the end of the month, so there’s still time to finish (or even start) a binge-watch if needs be! The series centers on a group of girlfriends who are bound together when a friend of theirs disappears… and then someone starts blackmailing them all. While most teen girls wouldn’t have any secrets juicy enough to be blackmailed over, these girls are definitely TV-fantasy types, with secrets dark enough to surprise any viewer (and impeccable wardrobes, of course). For anyone who loves teen shows or crime and mystery, Pretty Little Liars isn’t one to miss.
