There is an untold number of galaxies for travelers to explore in No Man’s Sky, and in those galaxies are many more unique planets. Filled with precious minerals and resources, players will spend a lot of time traversing planets to craft more gear and progress the game’s story. However, venturing across long distances on foot can take a long time. That’s where Exocrafts come in.
Exocrafts are vehicles that travelers can deploy on planets to travel further in their adventures and one of the many new features the developers have added since the game’s initial launch. There are 6 in total, each with its own utility, benefits, and upgrades to aid in the player’s intergalactic endeavors. This guide will teach players how to unlock every Exocraft, and the materials needed to create them.
Unlocking Exocrafts and Their Geobays
In order to summon an exocraft, their respective geobay needs to be built, which serves as a landing pad for each vehicle. To unlock them, head to the Space Anomaly’s Construction Resource Terminal and toggle over to the Transport Module option, where all the exocrafts are shown. Each geobay type is purchased by using the salvage data that’s obtained from uncovering buried technology on various planets. The Roamer is the first exocraft available, and after it’s obtained, the other 5 will become purchasable. After placing the geobay on a planet, travelers can then summon their exocraft to traverse the intergalactic landscapes for resources. Each exocraft requires different crafting materials to make, so here’s a list of what resources players need to gather and the benefits of having each vehicle.
Roamer
- As the first exocraft unlocked, this jack-of-all-trades vehicle can travel through a variety of different landscapes. Its geobay is crafted using 2 Ion Batteries, 5 Metal Plating, and 50 Paraffinium.
Colossus
- As the largest exocraft, the Colossus has the highest inventory space and is a traveler’s best friend on long mining excursions. To make its geobay, get 4 Ion Batteries. 5 Metal Plating, and 100 Paraffinium.
Nomad
- One of the lighter vehicles, the Nomad’s hoverpads let players zoom across bodies of water quickly but has lower inventory space. The Nomad’s geobay needs 2 Ion Batteries, 5 Metal Plating, and 50 Paraffinium.
Pilgrim
- Resembling a motorcycle, this speedy exocraft is great for reaching destinations as quickly as possible. Its geobay need 4 Ion Batteries, 5 Metal Plating, and 100 Paraffinium.
Minotaur
- Minotaur exocrafts are not only excellent at mining resources but have durable armor that’ll protect their pilot from hostile environments and the sentinels that roam them. To craft its geobay, collect 4 Ion Batteries, 5 Metal Plating, and Paraffinium.
Nautilon
- This exocraft is unique in that it’s best suited for marine exploration, so travelers looking to harvest resources from the bottom of the sea will get a lot of mileage out of it. Its geobay needs 4 Crystal Sulphide, 5 Metal Plating, and 100 Salt.
