OnePunch Man Saitama Should Totally Include Oculette In His Gang

While One-Punch Man’s Saitama was exploring the monsters’ lair after defeating Orochi, he stumbles upon Flashy Flash and a one-eyed monster. It turns out that the chemistry between them is unparalleled. The series is set in a world filled with monsters and heroes. In this world, it’s not too unusual to see a rampaging gigantic monster once in a while. It’s also not too unusual to see humans without any superpower being a hero. After all, the Hero Association takes multiple factors into consideration when accepting hero applications. There is, however, a character who has become too strong for his own good. Saitama, the main character, easily kills the strongest enemies with a single punch. However, he’s become bored of fighting monsters.

This is the reason why Saitama is often absent in One-Punch Man chapters. Once he arrives, the battle is as good as finished. Despite his lack of involvement, the series hasn’t become dry. There are other heroes who, even though undoubtedly super powerful, still struggle against the stronger villains. While they fight the final boss, Saitama is often away doing hilariously stupid businesses. What’s funnier is that he somehow manages to expand his group through some weird happenstance. At present, his ragtag gang is mostly composed of top-caliber heroes. However, there’s a possibility that will be changing soon.

The Hero Association has been made aware of the problem regarding the Monster Association. But with Garou being Bang’s former student, they have excluded him from the operation. There’s also the possibility that there’s an S-Class mole – so they are excluded as well. This includes Genos and Drive Knight. But even without them notifying him, Saitama has already entered the lair after hearing some weird noises coming from below his apartment. He dons his unimpressively plain hero suit and proceeds on his own without notifying the others. Given his luck and personality, Saitama has met a lot of monsters, which he easily dealt with, along the way.

On the other hand, the Hero Association has also initiated its own assault. The S-Class heroes, anchored by Child Emperor, lead the charge and enters the lair to rescue the kidnapped Waganma, the son of one of the top Hero Association sponsors. For the first time ever, fans get to see most of the S-Class heroes in conjunction with each other. On that note, they’ve also included King, who obviously relayed the information to Saitama’s gang. King knows that his chances of survival are basically secured as long as he is with Saitama. However, nobody knows where he is. Instead, Genos, Fubuki, Silver Fang, and Bomb proceeds towards the lair without hesitation.

Saitama’s group is formed through interesting circumstances. The first one who breaks Saitama’s isolation is Genos, the Demon Cyborg. When Genos was about to self-destruct after being beaten by a monster, Saitama saves him with ease. He then asks Saitama to be his master and show him the path of getting stronger. Saitama agrees only after realizing he can squeeze a few bucks out of Genos. The next one he meets is King. He confesses to only being an accidental hero after unintentionally taking the credit for Saitama’s killings. Despite him being a powerless human, he still sits on top of Saitama in terms of games. His group only becomes crazier when Silver Fang, the third strongest S-Class, joins the group with his brother, Bomb. Then, Fubuki joins in and unofficially renames the group as the New Blizzard Group with her being the leader.

When the New Blizzard Group joins the attack on the Monster Association, they’ve already missed most of the action. They then only joins the fight against Psychos. On the other hand, Saitama continues to explore the lair and stumbles upon Flashy Flash, who has just done in Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame. After determining that they are indeed on the same side, they’ve decided to explore deeper in search of the Monster King without having an idea that Saitama has already killed it. As they proceed deeper they meet a one-eyed monster, which looks a bit like Mike Wazowski from Monsters University. They hold her hostage and make her navigate the cart. Despite her attempts to dispose of them, Saitama and Flashy Flash are just too strong.

Being forced to tag along, which results in multiple funny antics as her plans of escapes get foiled, Oculette becomes closer to the two. Her current fear is being disposed of after Saitama and Flashy Flash redeems her to be useless. However, their bond has somewhat grown throughout their misadventures the deeper they go. The series also reveals that Oculette has some cool abilities. She can emit light from her eyeball, which makes her a very efficient flashlight. She can also amplify it by pressing both of her horns at once. Interestingly, it turns out that she’s more talented than that. When Blast makes his appearance, he immediately takes notice of Oculette. Saitama, however, tells him that she’s a monster of many talents. Pressing her left horn changes the light she emits to X-Ray while pressing the other changes it to light that detects heat.

Following the trend on how the other characters have joined Saitama’s group, there’s a big chance that Flashy Flash will be the newest addition to his group. Flashy Flash and Saitama also have good chemistry, and they’re comfortable enough to mock each other right at their faces. Other than Speed-O’-Sound Sonic, Flashy Flash is perhaps the only human relationship Saitama has that is for comic relief. Even his interaction with King often comes off dry.

Oculette’s case, however, is a bit different. Unlike the others, she is not only not a hero, but she’s a monster. Even though she’s already gotten close enough with Saitama to the point of having the courage to use Saitama’s bald head to amplify her light, there’s a chance that her being a monster won’t bide well on the surface, and Saitama isn’t really known for being a good guardian. On the other side of the coin, Saitama has already defended her from Blast, the No. 1 hero, so there’s a possibility that fans will be seeing more of her. If both Flashy Flash and Oculette do join Saitama Group, then One-Punch Man’s strongest group is destined to get rowdier and funnier.
