Pokémon is partnering with French crystal specialist Baccarat on a line of exclusive collectibles, headlined by a $25,000 USD crystal Pikachu. The celebrations continue for Pokémon as the hit franchise commemorates its 25th anniversary. Launched as a pair of games originally on the Game Boy, Pokémon has since exploded to become the world’s most valuable entertainment franchise, with total revenue now reaching over $100 billion USD.

Pokémon’s 25th anniversary celebrations have stretched all throughout 2021. The year saw exclusive Pokémon trading cards available at McDonalds, an unexpected sequel release with New Pokémon Snap, a new MOBA with Pokémon Unite, and even music singles from Katy Perry and Post Malone (to name just a few). To no surprise, fans have gotten into the celebration themselves, sharing their love for the series in many imaginative ways, with an incredible Pokémon Charizard cosplay and creepy Gengar sculptures offering just a small glimpse into the creativity of the Pokémon fanbase.

Now, Pokémon has announced a partnership with French fine-crystal manufacturer Baccarat, headlined by a massive $25,000 USD Pikachu. The crystal statue stands at just under a foot tall and weighs nearly 20 pounds. Streetwear designer Hiroshi Fujiwara, who has collaborated with Pokémon in the past, oversaw the creation of the statue as its designer. There will be only 25 of the statues made, with each one individually numbered for collectors. Baccarat describes the statue as “an exceptional object for collectors” with “imposing dimensions.”

Lucky for those who don’t have $25,000 USD on hand, Baccarat has a pair of smaller statues on sale as part of the partnership. They include a half-foot tall Pikachu, as well as a crystal and gold Poké Ball, both priced individually at a slightly more manageable $440 and $410 USD respectively. These two statues do not appear to be limited in number, unlike their bigger brother, but still offer a hefty price tag only the most diehard of fans will likely pay, especially with other celebratory Pokémon items and events available at no cost.

There is still plenty of Pokémon to look forward over the coming months. Pokémon will be capping off its anniversary year with the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl on the Nintendo Switch on November 19. Next year kicks off with a bang as well, with Pokemon Legends: Arceus shaping up to be one of the biggest games in the franchise to date, even if it isn’t quite the Pokémon game fans expected. 25 years strong, Pokémon is showing no signs of slowing down, although carrying a 20-pound crystal Pikachu might be a bit cumbersome.
