Stranger Things The 10 Most OP Eleven Moments

The fourth season of Netflix’s hit sci-fi show Stranger Things has been confirmed and it is official; we’re not in Hawkins anymore. Stranger Things 4 is already shaping up to be an interesting season with the Party scattered as Hopper (played by David Harbour) is presumingly dead, and telekinetic teenager Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) depowered.

Whilst El will undoubtedly struggle to regain her abilities, it seems unlikely that the Duffer brothers will deprive fans of awesome Eleven-centered action sequences in season four. Until then, here are El’s ten most OP moments in Stranger Things so far.

10 Flipping The Van

There were signs early in the series that Eleven’s psionic abilities have unparalleled possibilities. Whilst fleeing from Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) and the rest of Hawkins Lab in season one’s “The Bathtub,” El launches an oncoming van over their heads, saving her and her new friends from being captured by the shady government subdivision.

El’s powers are fueled in this scene by her emotions, as she is determined to stay out of the grips of the “bad men” at Hawkins Lab. Her sister Kali (Linnea Berthelsen) uses this moment as an example of the telekinetic’s capability during their training session in “The Lost Sister.”

9 Removing The Parasite

Stranger Things 3 was full of grisly, gruesome horror as the Mind Flayer stepped out of the shadowy realm of the Upside Down and into the sunny streets of Hawkins. One of the most horrifying scenes included El using her powers to remove a parasitic worm from her leg following a confrontation with Mind Flayer’s newly assembled body made out of the townspeople.

This had dire consequences for El, however. Immediately after she removes the parasite in a fierce display of power, her abilities seemingly vanish, leaving her vulnerable to the Mind Flayer’s attack.

8 Closing The Gate

The peak of Eleven’s powers was demonstrated during the season two finale. Accompanied by a gun-toting Hopper, El returns to Hawkins Lab to close the interdimensional gate that she unintentionally opened and has her first confrontation with the ominous Mind Flayer.

El’s black eyes and nosebleed sell the scope of the situation, as the superpowered teenager uses her ability to seal the doorway to the Upside Down.

7 Destroying The Demogorgon

The Demogorgon was the first monster from the Upside Down introduced in the series. The humanoid monster terrorizes the town of Hawkins after Eleven inadvertently opens the gate, killing Barb (Shannon Purser) and trapping Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) in the shadow dimension.

In season one’s “The Bathtub,” the Demogorgon is lured to the school in a final altercation with the Party. El seemingly sacrifices herself to save her friends, destroying the monster in the process.

6 Saving Mike

This scene spawned the Mileven ship and cemented Eleven’s status as the hero of Hawkins. After Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) are chased to the quarry by school bully Troy (Peyton Wich), Mike is given is a deadly ultimatum which causes the young boy to jump from the cliff’s edge.

Luckily, El is nearby to save the day. Using her powers to prevent Mike’s collision with the water, she then breaks Troy’s arm in a clear message to leave her friends alone.

5 Opening The Gate

In the same scene, it is revealed that Eleven herself unknowingly opened the door to the Upside Down and unleashed the Demogorgon. Tearfully referring to herself as a “monster,” Mike reassures her and the three friends share a touching moment.

Dr. Brenner is ultimately to blame, as he forced the young telekinetic to make contact with the Demogorgon and open the gate. It is a devastating consequence of El’s burgeoning, near-limitless abilities.

4 El Fights The Mind Flayer

Stranger Things The 10 Most OP Eleven Moments

The Mind Flayer had a physical presence in Hawkins during season three as opposed to ruling solely from the shadow realm. After possessing Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) and building a body from the remains of the townspeople in homage to Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, the newly assembled monster sets its sights on El for a showdown at Hopper’s cabin in “E Pluribus Unum.”

El manages to fend the Mind Flayer off with her powers but is ultimately wounded by the gruesome creature. Still, she manages to inflict serious damage on the monster in a visually impressive sequence.

3 Killing The Bad Men

As El herself chillingly informs Kali and her gang in “The Lost Sister,” she has killed people. In a flashback to El’s captivity in Hawkins Lab, the telekinetic is shown snapping the necks of the guards after they try and force her into solitary confinement as a punishment from Dr. Brenner.

Although this temporarily drains El’s powers, it is not the last time she uses her powers against her enemies with fatal consequences. During the season one finale, El kills the guard pursuing her and the Party with her psionic powers, showcasing just how formidable her powers can be.

2 El Vs. Billy

Stranger Things The 10 Most OP Eleven Moments

Eleven has several encounters with the Mind Flayer during season three, and her encounter with the possessed Billy is one of the most intense scenes in the series. After the Party locks Billy in the sauna to determine whether or not he is possessed by the Mind Flayer, he breaks out and attacks El, nearly killing her and Mike before El throws him through a brick wall.

The acting in this scene is outstanding as each cast member perfectly sells the power and emotion of the moment. It is also one of the first big tests for El’s abilities.

1 Telekinetic Tantrum

El’s relationship with her adopted father Hopper is one of the most touching highlights of the series. Despite loving each other dearly, the two characters have also clashed, particularly during season two.

In “Will The Wise,” an enraged Hopper confronts El about breaking his rules and leaving the confines of the cabin which prompts the teenager to angrily trash their home using her telekinetic powers. It is a test for Hopper, who is learning how to parent a superpowered teenager, as well as a display of El’s awesome abilities.
