Teen Wolf 10 Storylines That Were Never Resolved

It has been a couple of years now since the Teen Wolf finale aired. Despite it being over, many fans still enjoy watching and discussing the series. Luckily for fans, the writers had time to wrap up the show so it didn’t end on a devastating cliffhanger.

Odds are, we will see some kind of reboot or continuation down the line. It was one of MTV’s most popular scripted series. However, the show also left behind many unresolved mysteries and questions. We’re taking a look at the top ten.

10 What happened to Kate Argent?

Teen Wolf 10 Storylines That Were Never Resolved

Love her or hate her, there’s no arguing that Kate was a pretty great villain on the series. She is supposedly killed by Peter Hale at the end of season one, but we find out in season four that Kate was actually turned by Peter’s deep scratch. The show did a good job of foreshadowing this, although it’s not entirely clear if it was planned or not.

Regardless, she is a villain in season four, returned to get revenge for Allison’s death. By the end of the season, she escapes after Chris decides not to kill her. But we never see or hear from her again. We can assume she is on the run and will continue to be for the rest of her life, but it would have been nice to get a little more closure on her storyline.

9 How did Danny find out the truth about werewolves?

Teen Wolf 10 Storylines That Were Never Resolved

Danny is one of the most popular characters on the show despite being a secondary one. He was Jackson’s best friend and often provided comic relief during his interactions with Scott and Stiles. He was also the only out and gay character on the show for a while. Fans also liked his relationship with Ethan. We find out that he’s known about werewolves for a long time in season three.

It wouldn’t have been that hard for Danny to find out about them based on how often Scott and the gang talk about it. But it would have been nice to see the scene where Danny learns the truth. It could have been a great moment between Danny and Jackson, as best friends.

8 What happened to Allison’s phone?

Teen Wolf 10 Storylines That Were Never Resolved

In season three, there is a strange incident where Allison’s phone is mysteriously turned off. When it’s turned back on, it’s full of weird voicemails from the Japanese internment camp. The storyline was related to the Nogitsune plot in the series but the reason for Allison’s phone being shut off is depicted as a mystery and one that the show never resolves.

Who turned her phone off? Why were those messages left for Allison and not Stiles or someone else in the group? It may not be the most pressing question but many fans still wonder about this even years later.

7 What happened to Jackson’s parents?

Jackon’s birth parents are killed off before the show begins. He was essentially born in death with both of them dying after he was born. This unresolved trauma leads to a lot of Jackson’s rage issues. We never learn the truth about what happened to them.

This is mostly because Colton Haynes decided to leave the show. Jeff Davis has commented before that Jackson’s heritage would have been explored in the third season alongside the Alpha pack storyline had he remained on the show.

6 Where was Cora all that time?

Teen Wolf 10 Storylines That Were Never Resolved

Cora is missing for a long time and seems to have memory issues about her past. Considering she only winds up staying on the show for one season, perhaps the writers didn’t think it was a pressing issue to understand what had happened to her before she is finally reunited with Derek.

Still, it would have been nice to have a flashback episode of some kind that filled us in on the blanks of Cora’s history and perhaps filled in more details about the mysterious Hale family.

5 We never learned much about Boyd and Erica

Boyd and Erica were relatively minor characters but they were introduced at the same time as Isaac. Of the trio, only Isaac went on to become a main character. Sadly, Boyd and Erica were both pushed to the side and never give a chance for their characters to really develop.

This was unfortunate because they both were interesting characters and fans warmed to them. Boyd even had an intense scene in the infamous “Motel California” episode that is never explained. We don’t know what he was being haunted by, whereas Isaac got a full backstory. The series had a bad habit of prioritizing its white male characters over non-white characters and women.

4 Why were the Druids so underutilized?

Dr. Deaton and Morrell are two of the main Druids in Teen Wolf. They’re supposed to have abilities that allow them to keep their packs safe. Yes, Deaton and Morrell both come in handy from time to time but for the most part, they’re sort of useless.

It would have been nice to have them play a more important role in the show and just to learn about their abilities in full. We never learn the full extent of what the Druids are capable of.

3 So much of Kira’s storyline went unresolved

Teen Wolf 10 Storylines That Were Never Resolved

One of the most disappointing moments of the series was when Arden Cho was let go. Both the actress and fans were extremely upset by this decision. Kira’s character was a kitsune and one of the most fascinating supernatural beings in the series.

Her family had a rich history that both tied in to the world but also Kira was developing relationships with Scott and Allison that fans were attached to. Plus, with her kitsune side acting up, there was still so much to explore with her. It was disappointing to have her rushed off before we got to learn more about her and her abilities.

2 Why was Allison’s possession heavily foreshadowed only to have nothing come of it?

Teen Wolf 10 Storylines That Were Never Resolved

In season three, it was heavily foreshadowed that a character would be dying and that someone was going to be possessed. Most people figured out it would be Stiles early on but there were strong suggestions that it could have been Allison. It is believed that Allison might have been the second person possessed but things may have been altered when Crystal Reed decided to leave the series.

One of the most notable hints came when Chris Argent was told he would have to do whatever it takes to eliminate the evil, “even if it was his own daughter.” That’s a powerful statement to make and not follow through on. Then there is also the case of the cell phone, as mentioned above, and some of Allison’s strange behavior throughout the season.

1 What happened to Danny?

As we discussed before, Danny was a fan-favorite character and one of the most popular side characters in the series. This was greatly enhanced when he got into a relationship with Ethan. But then Danny just disappears and he’s not mentioned again.

Even when Jackson comes back, we don’t get to see a Jackson and Danny reunion despite the fact Jackson came out as being bisexual. It was disappointing, to say the least, especially because Danny had finally learned the truth about the supernatural world.
