Some teams have dominated The Amazing Race by winning most of the legs that the race is intrinsically divided into.

CBS’ The Amazing Race is one of the most beloved reality TV competitions. It features teams of two who complete dangerous challenges while circling the globe to win an action-packed race. The race is divided into numerous legs, and although leg placement doesn’t determine who wins the season overall, some teams have dominated the game over the course of their The Amazing Race careers by racking up an impressive number of leg wins.

Winning one leg of the race is hard enough, and these teams have managed to win many more than just one, making them the most dominant teams based on leg wins that the show has had the privilege of hosting. Given that many of these teams have appeared on the show more than once, it’s important to consider the total number of legs won in a career rather the highest number of legs won during a particular season.

11 Danny And Oswald (6 Legs)

Danny Jimenez and Oswald Mendez are a duo of best friends who appeared on the second season of The Amazing Race as well as its 11th season, which was an all-stars version. Known for their friendly interaction with the local people of countries in which the different legs of the race took place, they were loved by fans owing to the stark contrast the laid-back pair displayed when compared to the competitive nature of other participating teams.

Finishing fourth in both The Amazing Race 2 and The Amazing Race 11, Danny and Oswald have a career total of six leg wins in the series, making them one of the most dominant teams based on leg wins.

10 Kandice And Dustin (6 Legs)

A team of beauty queens, Kandice Pelletier and Dustin-Leigh Seltzer were initially underrated by other participants, but they soon proved everyone wrong by dominating the second half of the races in both the seasons that they appeared in, courtesy of their physical prowess and use of cunning techniques to thwart opponents.

They finished fourth and won two legs in season 10, and they finished second in season 11 with four leg wins, which also makes them the current record holder of most legs won by an all-female team in one season. Having a career total of six leg wins, Kandice and Dustin are definitely one of the most dominant teams ever.

9 Tommy And Andy (6 Legs)

Andrew Finch and Tommy Czeschin appeared in The Amazing Race 19 and immediately won hearts owing to their free-spiritedness and an optimistic attitude.

Professional snowboarders in their regular lives, this duo easily dominated the season, winning six legs, thereby tying them with father-son team Dave and Connor for most legs won by a male team in a particular season. Although they finished fourth in the season, Andy and Tommy are certainly one of the best teams that have appeared on the show.

8 Jet And Cord (7 Legs)

Brothers Jet and Cord McCoy appeared in The Amazing Race 16, The Amazing Race 18, and The Amazing Race 24. Having finished second in their first appearance on the show, they were invited back for Unfinished Business and All-Stars.

Despite doing well in the physical tasks and working well together as a team, the two cowboys performed poorly when it came to puzzles and navigation, leading them to finish sixth in season 18 and fifth in season 24. With four legs won in season 16, one in season 18, and two in season 24, they have a career total of seven legs won, which is quite impressive.

7 Rob And Amber (7 Legs)

Amber Mariano and Robert Mariano are a married couple who first appeared on Season 7 of The Amazing Race when they were engaged, and then again on Season 11, as newlyweds. During their first appearance on Season 7, they finished 2nd after having won four legs and finished 8th in Season 11 after having won and dominated the first three legs of the race.

Being former contestants of Survivor, their fellow contestants were not too happy regarding their celebrity status and the fact that locals were willing to help them more owing to them being well-known. Despite having to face some of the worst villains from The Amazing Race, including Joe and Bill, the couple managed to rake in a career total of seven leg wins.

6 Nick And Starr (7 Legs)

Nicholas Spangler and Emily Spangler are a brother and sister duo who appeared on the 13th season of The Amazing Race. Despite making allies in the earlier half of the game, both Nick and Emily, who prefers to go by the nickname Starr, also made notable enemies who despised them for being cunning, conniving and sly.

However, they also dominated in the races owing to their physical superiority and competitive nature, winning six legs of the race, as well as the final leg, thereby becoming the official winners of The Amazing Race 13. A hugely dominant team, Nick and Starr deserve to return to The Amazing Race in an all-stars season.

5 Meghan And Cheyne (7 Legs)

A dating team, Cheyne Whitney and Meghan Rickey appeared in and won the 15th season of The Amazing Race. Having won seven legs throughout the race, they are one of the most dominant teams that the show has ever seen.

Cheyne’s spontaneity coupled with Meghan’s close attention to detail are the traits that allowed this team to shine brighter than their competitors in the show and eventually win the race. While they did suffer from minor setbacks and problems in communication, their overall performance was impeccable.

4 Dave And Connor (8 Legs)

This father-and-son duo from Salt Lake City, Utah, first appeared on The Amazing Race 22 and finished in eighth place on the show. Having ranked so poorly during their first outing, nobody thought that they would prove to be the winners of season 24, the second all-stars version of the show.

During their initial season, David and Connor O’Leary won two legs out of the 12, but during their return to the game in The Amazing Race 24, they won six legs out of the 12, tying them with Andy and Tommy as the record holders for most legs won by an all-male team during a single season. They have a career total of eight legs won on the show, which makes them effective and dominant compared to the other teams that have appeared throughout the years.

3 Rachel And Dave (8 Legs)

There exists a debate as to whether The Amazing Race should go on, or whether it should be canceled, but it is for participants like David Brown Jr. and Rachel Brown that the show deserves to continue.

One of the best teams to have ever participated in the contest, this married couple comprising of army wife Rachel and combat pilot Dave dominated The Amazing Race 20, winning eight legs in the season, which makes them the current record holders of most legs won by a team in a single season. It’s is also the second-highest career total of leg wins any team has ever managed to accumulate, but only Rachel and Dave did it in one season.

2 Tyler And Korey (9 Legs)

Tyler and Korey first played The Amazing Race during season 28, and although they didn’t win the game — they came in third place — they did win an impressive five legs, making them one of the most dominant teams of the season.

Given their likability and successful gameplay, it was no wonder Tyler and Korey were invited to race again in The Amazing Race 31. They came up short this time too, however, placing third once again. Still, they performed well in various legs, pulling in four leg wins on their way to the bronze. Their total of nine leg wins across two seasons would have set an all-time The Amazing Race record if another season 31 team hadn’t achieved the same feat…

1 Colin And Christie (9 Legs)

Colin Guinn and Christie Woods first appeared in season 5 of The Amazing Race in which they finished second, having won six legs before becoming the runners-up.

They appeared again on The Amazing Race 31. Despite being bogged down by one of the best twists in Amazing Race history, the Roadblock, they emerged as the winners of the season, winning three legs along the way. With a career total of nine leg wins, and placing second then first in the two seasons they raced, the team of Colin and Christie is arguably the most dominant team that has ever appeared on The Amazing Race, with or without considering the most number of legs won.
