The Mandalorian 10 Most Dangerous Star Wars Characters Who Visited Tatooine

Little is known about upcoming Disney+ TV Show The Mandalorian, despite the fact they’re so convinced it will be a hit they’ve already started filming a second series. One of the few details we do know about, though, is that the show will spend much of its time on Tatooine, the same planet that was prominent during both the original and prequel trilogies.

Plenty of dangerous characters have stepped foot on the planet’s sandy surface over the years. We now take a look at 10 who have during all of the Star Wars movies up to this point.

10 Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker spends his childhood on Tatooine being a slave for the dodgy Watto and dreaming of a brighter future as a Jedi Knight away from such a harsh and unforgiving planet. He eventually gets his wish when Qui-Gon Jinn is able to free him during The Phantom Menace but returns for the movie’s sequel, 2002’s Attack Of The Clones. And it’s here when you see just how dangerous he is.

Upon learning that Tusken Raiders had murdered his mother, Shmi, he proceeds to wipe out every single one of them (and the women and children, too) in cold blood. It’s a sinister moment in the picture and is a big step in his slide towards the dark side.

9 Watto

Watto is something of a idiot. He attempts to hold his own against Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace, only to be tricked into having to give up Anakin Skywalker and give the parts the Jedi Knight requires away for free as well.

But, despite that, he’s dangerous. In Attack Of The Clones, he reveals to Anakin that people are in debt to him and he’d like his former slave to visit them in order to convince them into paying up. Throw in the fact that he hangs out with some of the galaxy’s biggest undesirables and that means he’s connected – which makes him somebody you wouldn’t want too many interactions with.

8 Sebulba

One of the worst people Watto knows is Sebulba, the nasty creature who is hellbent on being the king of Podracing and who has a fierce rivalry with a young Anakin Skywalker. He attempts to murder Jar Jar Binks early into the movie during an altercation and his torrid behavior doesn’t stop there.

During the Podrace, he appears to kill numerous participants with his aggressive flying style, taking no care to avoid those around him and instead aiming for as much carnage as possible. He eventually gets his comeuppance, though, with Anakin managing to outsmart his enemy and steering himself to victory, stunning the Tatooine crowd in the process.

7 Jabba The Hutt

Grotesque on the outside and on the inside, Jabba the Hutt is one of the space opera’s most nefarious villains. The gangster makes a brief appearance in 1977’s A New Hope before returning for a more prominent role in 1983’s Return of the Jedi, where he proudly puts an imprisoned Han Solo on display for all of his similarly-nasty guests to see.

Jabba also enjoys sending people into the Rancor’s pit and watching them get devoured, making him somebody who most people in the galaxy want to stay away from. He embarks on a reign of cruelty before he’s strangled to death by Leia Organa and the rest of his confidants are obliterated when his sail barge is destroyed.

6 Boba Fett

Boba Fett is seen as a youngster in Attack of the Clones but, many years before that, Jeremy Bulloch brought the character to life in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, respectively. With a cool aura, and a slick outfit to match, he’s one of Star Wars’ biggest poster boys.

Boba is dangerous, carrying out the orders of whoever has the most galactic credits and seemingly possessing no moral compass. It’s he who brings Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt and he who battles valiantly to defend the gangster, before ultimately failing and falling to his presumed death via the Sarlaac pit on Tatooine.

5 Han Solo

We know Han Solo is one of the good guys in Star Wars but it wasn’t always that way, with Harrison Ford’s character coming across as self-centred and arrogant during his debut appearance in A New Hope. During the original cut of that movie, he shoots Greedo in cold blood – but that was later changed thanks to some doctoring by George Lucas.

That scene happens on Tatooine and it’s where he meets Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi on his travels. Han shows immediately he’s not to be trifled with, while also demonstrating his brilliance with a blaster by helping the heroes get off the planet and away from the Empire.

4 Chewbacca

When the heroes meet Han Solo in the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine, they also meet Chewbacca for the first time. Obviously, after all these years, we consider him a big softy due to the fact he doesn’t ever seem to act in cold blood. But that doesn’t mean he’s any less dangerous.

Han refers to the fact Chewie has torn arms off people before and his prowess with a bow caster means most of his shots find their mark. With his unwavering loyalty and fearsome attitude, he’s not a Wookie you’d want to anger. And, so far, we’ve been disappointed by his lack of screen time in the sequel trilogy.

3 Padme Amidala

Just because she’s Queen doesn’t mean that Padme Amidala needs to rely on others for her own protection. We’d seen a glimpse of her fighting during the Battle on Naboo during The Phantom Menace and her brilliance in combat is taken to the next level when Attack of the Clones came out three years later.

Padme, during that movie, is fearless. She’s brave enough to stick around when Anakin Skywalker shows signs of being evil on Tatooine during a brief visit, joins him in trying to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi on Geonosis and battles against a Separatist army (and horrific creatures) during an epic showdown on the same planet. She’s one Royal you’d never want to cross.

2 Dr Cornelius Evazan

Dr Cornelius Evazan is a man disfigured but, when you’re on Tatooine, that’s okay. He clearly doesn’t allow it to impact his confidence, starting an argument with Luke Skywalker in the Mos Eisley Cantina and trying to set his stooge, Ponda Baba, on the farm boy.

Evazan has a reputation for being a notorious character but, thankfully, Ben Kenobi is able to stop Luke from being harmed by slicing Ponda’s arm off. He and his friend both pop up again in Rogue One with a similarly plucky attitude but, fortunately for our heroes, he doesn’t ever come back for revenge.

1 Darth Maul

Darth Maul, on screen at least, didn’t make much of an impression on Star Wars fans. He made his on-screen debut in The Phantom Menace and spends the first half of the movie tracking Qui Gon Jinn, Padme Amidala, Jar Jar Binks and R2D2 as they make their way around Tatooine.

His mission eventually ends with a fiery duel on the planet, where Qui Gon is able to just about escape. However, he gets his revenge on the Jedi Knight later in the movie when he chops him down on Naboo. With his force powers, incredible agility and skills with a lightsaber he’s a strong Sith Lord – one who should, really, have stayed around for longer.
