Tiger King Characters Most Likely To Win Squid Game

The numerous eccentric and strange characters that appear in Netflix’s Tiger King would range widely in terms of their ability to win the Squid Game.

There are few series that can match the simple cultural impact of Tiger King, which became a phenomenon when it first premiered on Netflix. With its tabloid-esque story of exotic animal ownership, overweening ambition and ego, and a murder plot gone wild, it had all of the trappings of a soap opera, with the larger-than-life personalities to match.

Given its pervasive influence, it begs the question: which of the characters that appear in Tiger King would be most likely to win the sinister, deadly, and dangerous Squid Game?

10 Howard Baskin

Howard Baskin is the second husband of the infamous Carole Baskin (who has birthed numerous memes). He’s a vehement supporter of his wife, and he doesn’t seem to like it that many people think that she murdered her first husband.

While he’s not as aggressive or as cunning as some of the other characters in Tiger King, he still seems to be able to handle himself, so he would stand at least something of a chance in the early stages of the Squid Game, even if he didn’t make it to the end.

9 Erick Cowie

Even though the animals were supposedly the center of Joe Exotic’s zoo, he also seemed to collect a motley group of characters, including Erick. Cowie was one of the few characters in the series that seemed like a genuinely good person who cared for the animals in the zoo.

However, it’s exactly his sensitivity and genuine kindness that would prove to be great liabilities in the Squid Game, and he’d be easily taken advantage of and beaten by those who are more ruthless than he is.

8 Mario Tabraue

Even though Joe Exotic’s effort to have Carole Baskin killed was one of the series’ center points, there were a number of other sinister characters that appeared, including Mario Tabraue. He’s the kind of person that is not to be taken lightly, and he is even supposed to have tried to use a machete to cut apart a human body.

As a result, he would be a formidable contestant in the Squid Game, even if his own sense of self-importance would make him many enemies.

7 Rick Kirkham

The many people that appear in the series have a knack for crafting a public image of themselves, and there are few who are as skilled in that regard as Rick Kirkham. He is clearly a shrewd person, someone who understands the power of the popular media to shape perceptions, either of himself or of Joe Exotic.

This suggests that he would have just the kind of tactical mind that enables someone to get ahead, and perhaps even win (if they’re lucky) the Squid Game.

6 Saff

Along with Erick, Saff is one of the few people in Tiger King who seems actually likable. More than that, however, they are also formidable, having served in the military and survived a mauling from a tiger that left them without one of their hands. Through it all, however, they seem determined to survive and even to thrive.

These survival skills, as well as the training provided by the military, would give them the ability to do well and perhaps even win the Squid Game.

5 Joshua Dial

One of the more surprising turns in Tiger King is when Joe Exotic decides that he is going to run for president, and so he hires Joshua Dial. Though Dial is one of the least outlandish characters to emerge out of the series, he shows time and again that he does know how politics work (even if the same isn’t always true of Joe Exotic).

Thus, he has the sort of strategic intelligence, and perhaps even ruthlessness, that the Squid Game demands of those who want to win.

4 Jeff Lowe

Though it’s hard to say who, exactly, is the villain of Tiger King, Jeff Lowe would be near the top of the list. In his appearances, he makes it abundantly clear that there’s an edge to him that people would do well to take seriously, and he’s able to take over the park that Joe Exotic once owned.

He’s just the kind of callous tactician and brutal personality that would be able to overcome most of his opponents in the Squid Game.

3 Carole Baskin

Carole Baskin is one of the characters that makes this series a great docu-series, if only because she combines a certain airy charm with a very pragmatic (one might almost say ruthless) approach to her goals.

Though her own big sanctuary has a dubious care regimen, that doesn’t stop her from working to get big cat ownership banned in the United States. She knows how the levers of power work–as she shows when she goes to Washington–and so she would be just the type of person who would know how to forge the alliances necessary to get ahead in the game.

2 Doc Antle

Doc Antle is an enigmatic character in the series, always hovering at the edges of the story. What the viewer learns about him, though, is rather chilling, and beneath his seemingly charismatic exterior there is a lot going on.

It’s easy to get the feeling that he is a very dangerous person who will not let anything stand in the way of his own vision of what big cat ownership should look like, and he would probably be the type of person who would likewise not let anything stand in the way of his ultimate victory in the Squid Game.

1 Joe Exotic

Finally, there’s Joe Exotic. He’s the center around which the rest of the series revolves, and he shows that, beneath his seemingly friendly exterior, he’s really quite cold and cunning, as he reveals when he is more concerned about the financial repercussions of Saff’s injury than he is in their well-being (arguably one of the worst things he did).

Furthermore, his willingness to go to the extremes when it comes to Carole Baskin shows that there’s almost nothing that he won’t do when it comes to getting ahead in life.
