DC Universe’s first original series (which also premiered on Netflix internationally) was a hit, despite some of its flaws, it has won over fans and critics alike for its darker yet intriguing portrayal of these iconic characters. It has been successful enough that viewers are set to be given a third season after a surprisingly improved second season.

That being said, as much as fans enjoy the show, there are several aspects that fans have been rolling their eyes at since the first season that continued even to the end of season two. There are some aspects that the show keeps doing well!

10 Fix: It Needs To Stop Forcing An R-Rating

On its own, the show would be the equivalent of a hard PG-13 rating. While an R-rating is fine, fans have agreed that Titans tries too hard to be rated R by using forced F-bombs and sometimes ridiculous amounts of gore just to seem edgier but comes off as the show trying too hard when it doesn’t need to.

While this issue was somewhat mended in the second season, viewers are hoping that the third season finds that perfect balanced tone to fix things to satisfy fans of the comics and the show.

9 Love: It Should Keep Up With The Great Fight Scenes

Something this show has done perfectly since the very first episode is very well choreographed and filmed fight sequences: from the introduction of Dick Grayson in the pilot, the fight between him and Nightmare Jason, Superboy’s fight with the soldiers, the battles against Deathstroke, they are great!

Most of the fights have been well done with great effects, intensity, and pacing. Fans hope that with the third season, the budget increases, and the fights continue to get better.

8 Fix: It Needs To Stop With Terrible Finales

An odd pattern fans have noticed is that both seasons of the show have been stellar but then the final episode hits and it has disappointed.

The first season ended so abruptly due to changes in the episode lineup that it came off as jarring. Meanwhile, Season Two’s finale had a great introduction to Dick Grayson as Nightwing but fans agree that the episode itself felt rushed, several events made no sense, and even the final battle against Deathstroke was awkward. Hopefully, this pattern breaks with Season Three.

7 Love: It Treats Most Of The Characters With Respect

Nightwing, Superboy, Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, and others are all different portrayals than what fans are used to but not in a bad way. These portrayals fit the healthy mix of the grounded and comic book-y world that the show creates.

Like a mix of the Young Justice animated series and the darker Titans books from the ’70s and ’80s. Fans enjoy what they’ve done with most of the characters so far so hopefully, the showrunners keep that going with the next season of Titans.

6 Fix: It Needs To Stop Wasting Hawk & Dove

Fans agree that Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly perform great as their characters but the writers are obsessed with keeping these characters as annoying as possible. They hog up so much screentime but all they do is sulk and complain, rarely do they become Hawk and Dove: they are just Hank and Dawn.

Now, this wouldn’t be so bad for viewers if they added meaningful drama but almost every scene with them feels redundant and repetitive thus boring the fans. Give them more to do!

5 Love: It Nails Dick Grayson’s Evolution

Brenton Thwaites has become to Dick Grayson like Gal Gadot is to Wonder Woman: perfect in nearly every way. A lot of that stems from the performance from Thwaites himself and the slow but satisfying progression of the character from a dark and lost Robin to the first live-action adaptation of Nightwing.

Despite the episode being a dud, fans were ecstatic since Season One at the possibility of seeing Nightwing so everyone rejoiced at seeing the Boy Wonder all grown up.

4 Fix: Their Batman

Iain Glen is a great actor and many fans were looking forward to his portrayal of Bruce Wayne in the series…only to be left feeling conflicted about him.

He’s got the attitude and the moves for the role but his physique and blonde hair have viewers in disbelief that this is the Gotham Guardian who strikes fear into the hearts of criminals. It also doesn’t help that fans agree than Glen’s attempt at an American accent was not convincing. There’s room for Glen to evolve in the role so fans have their fingers crossed.

3 Love: Beast Boy

One of the other performances fans have been enjoying is Ryan Potter’s portrayal of Garfield Logan AKA Beast Boy. In both seasons, he steals the show whenever he is on screen but he is more of a co-star than anything.

With his friendship and bond with Superboy plus it is said that Cadmus may be a threat in the third season, fans are hoping that Beast Boy gets the chance to shine more and more. Fans are also hoping to see more animal forms for him besides a tiger.

2 Fix: It Needs To Introduce More DC Heroes

Titans 5 Things About The Show HBO Max Needs To Fix (& 5 We Love)

There are many mentions and references to other heroes in the show and while it makes sense that Dick wants the Titans to stand on their own, it is hard for fans to believe that the Titans never run into any of the Justice League, especially when Superboy was introduced.

With the DC Multiverse fully established after CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths, Titans should have no problem introducing characters like The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, or Superman onto the show.

1 Love: It Has Been On Point With Their Villains

As much as fans love the Titans themselves, they need a good villain to keep the show intense and both seasons have delivered on that front…for the most part. Trigon had great setup and potential but that led to an anti-climactic battle but the Nuclear Family from the first season was creepy and imposing.

However, the villain that has stolen the show is Deathstroke who many considered to be the best thing about the second season alongside the creation of Dick Grayson’s Nightwing.
