Walker The Main Characters Ranked By Likability

Jared Padalecki’s The CW series Walker has been a big departure from the original show, with this one firmly ingrained in character quality rather than too much action. Cordell Walker’s role as a Texas Ranger, father, son, friend, and broken-hearted widower has brought a number of other characters into focus.

All things considered, the main characters can stack up to be considered without Cordell’s presence as well, as each one of them has been given enough storylines for their likability factor to be judged. While this will no doubt change as the series progresses, it’s interesting to see who falls where when their actions and attitudes are taken into account.

11 Bonham Walker

While Bonham is far from the worst parent on TV, he’s not exactly the best either. Likewise, Bonham isn’t a bad person, yet he’s a bit rough around the edges that he comes across as hard to please and far too set in his ways to be likable.

His family has found it difficult to communicate with him, in-universe, due to his tendency to push them away. It also doesn’t help that the few times he does speak up is when he wants to scold someone, making Bonham come across as distant.

10 Larry James

Larry is another character who means well, yet doesn’t come across as fully sincere. Due to the pressure of his job as boss, he can feel like a hurdle between Cordell and his unorthodox ways, which seeps away some of his likability since viewers watch from Cordell’s point of view.

However, there are also the times where he makes big exceptions for Cordell and any other boss would have been on Cordell’s case a long time ago. Larry’s days as Cordell’s partner haven’t been shown as much, at a time when he was clearly said to be a lot more mellow.

9 Geri Broussard

On paper, Geri shouldn’t come across as unsympathetic in her failed relationship with Hoyt, but the latter’s charismatic presence makes it so that Geri’s act of kissing Cordell is hard to overlook. Still, she stood by for a long time while Hoyt made one mistake after another.

Geri’s also someone whom Cordell can count upon, and with so few people that he can actually call his friend, Geri comes across as a person who’s at least genuine enough to stay in his life.

8 Stella Walker

Stella’s anger toward Cordell was justifiable since he left his children when they were still reeling from the loss of their mother, although her continued role in making matters more difficult for her father after one rebellious act after another is also exasperating.

For the first half of the debut season, Stella kept deliberately crossing Cordell in order to get a rise out of him. Following his apologies toward her, Stella continued to be a problem by falling for the wrong boy who almost turned a criminal out of her as well. Her anger is understood, but her wrong decisions still bring mixed feelings about her characterization.

7 Cordell Walker

With fans largely seeing Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester over his new role as Cordell Walker, most expect him to be a nice guy like Sam was. Even so, Cordell has made big-time mistakes, such as leaving his family high and dry when they needed him most after Emily’s death.

His likability has increased during the present-day events as he’s been by the side of justice and accepted responsibility for his mistakes. On the other hand, Cordell has the tendency to be too high-minded and resort to being rebellious rather than rational, which can frustrate viewers.

6 August Walker

There’s nothing all that annoying or unlikable about August as there is compared to many others in his family, but here is that teen angst that makes August too naive at times. Still, the few mistakes he made due to a lack of maturity aren’t too big to turn August unlikable.

In fact, he’s shown a lot of character for his young age, having been willing to forgive Cordell for the way he treated him and only wanting his family to be happy. There’s definite room for improvement for him, but August is easily the member of the Walker clan who harbors no ill will.

5 Abeline Walker

Abeline seems to be rather underappreciated not only by her family but the TV series in general due to being given a smaller onscreen space than her character deserves. Regardless, the times she does show up prove the motherly instincts she possesses.

Although it’s clear she has reservations and slight contempt toward her family for the rash way they behave, Abeline has been understanding throughout by choosing to see the best in everyone. It’s also remarkable how she’s put with men like Cordell and Bonham who are far too set in their ways to fully appreciate her.

4 Micki Ramirez

Much like Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan continues to mainly be seen by fans as The 100’s Raven Rayes. To her benefit, though, Micki is a person hard to dislike considering she’s always right and has a strong sense of morality.

Her main flaw lies with being too invested in proving herself, which has turned her into a workaholic and led to her occasionally forgetting about the people who love her. Still, Micki’s easily the best ranger the show’s featured and there’s barely ever been a time where she hasn’t connected with other characters on an emotional level.

3 Trey Barnett

Trey has been like Abeline, in that he’s not shown up as much as he should have. His role has largely been to provide emotional support to Micki, which has even made it seem as if he’s too good for her, given that viewers usually see him getting inadvertently ignored by Micki in favor of her job.

As seen in the thirteenth episode of Walker, Trey’s background as a medic became vital in saving lives. In addition, the few times he has acted in relatively wrong terms, Trey has been big enough to apologize for them.

2 Liam Walker

Walker The Main Characters Ranked By Likability

It’s difficult to pinpoint much of anything that can be considered unlikable about Liam, without whom his family would surely have been torn apart. As seen when he got shot, the Walkers just don’t know how to function with Liam, as he’s picked up the pieces of their lives for as long as he’s been around.

Liam has been the father to Cordell’s children that the latter couldn’t be while being the son that Abeline deserves and Bonham might not. He’s been both empathetic and called out characters who have behaved wrongly, and Liam can basically be considered as the moral compass of the series.

1 Emily Walker

While Genevieve Padalecki’s most famous character remains Sam Winchester’s demonic ex, Ruby, her role in Walker as Cordell’s late wife, Emily, is her most likable. From all that’s been seen of Emily, she was the ultimate personification of how a person can be their best selves.

The series has focused upon Emily being perfect, without whose presence the family fell into tatters. Emily was the one who essentially raised the children, made Cordell the best man he was, and remained the greatest source of comfort for every character on the show.
