The first trailer for Welcome to the Blumhouse Part 2 has arrived confirming October premiere dates for the next double dose of terror. Development on the anthology horror film series was first announced in September 2020 as the production studio partnered with Amazon Prime Video for a variety of horror and thriller stories. The first four films aired in October with the sci-fi thriller Black Box and psychological horror Nocturne receiving generally positive reviews from critics while thriller The Lie and supernatural horror pic Evil Eye saw more mixed receptions.

The new chapter of Welcome to the Blumhouse will again feature four films including Gigi Saul Guerrero’s horror-comedy Bingo Hell, Maritte Lee Go’s vampire-driven action-horror film Black as Night, Ryan Zaragoza’s psychological horror film Madres and Axelle Carolyn’s gothic horror-thriller The Manor. The films will feature casts of genre vets and up-and-comers, some of whom include Barbara Hershey, Bruce Davison, The Forever Purge’s Tenoch Huerta, Asjha Cooper, The Thing’s Keith David and Drag Me to Hell’s Adriana Barraza. Nearly a year after the first chapter’s premiere on the streaming platform, the time is nearly here for the return of Welcome to the Blumhouse.

As summer comes to a close, Amazon Prime Video is building anticipation for the Halloween season with the first trailer for Welcome to the Blumhouse Part 2. In addition to offering looks at the next four films coming from the indie powerhouse studio, the video reveals the first two films will debut on October 1 while the latter premiere the following week. Though the first group of films may have been a mixed bag of genre efforts, Welcome to the Blumhouse has proven to be a unique partnership between the production studio and Amazon. The films have offered the opportunity for both established storytellers and performers in the genre and those looking to break out the chance to shine and the trailer for the new set of films looks to keep that trend rolling. With everyone from The Entity’s Barbara Hershey to Mandy and 3 From Hell star Richard Brake in front of the camera to Into the Dark alum Guerrero and Tales of Halloween contributor Carolyn, the talent on both sides of the camera proves to be very promising for more genre fun.

The trailer itself for Welcome to the Blumhouse Part 2 also just promises a unique blend of familiar and original tales for horror fans to feast on. With Bingo Hell feeling reminiscent of a timely new take on Something Wicked This Way Comes and Needful Things to Go’s Black as Night promising a bitingly hilarious and action-fueled vampire adventure, the next group of films look to be the perfect viewing for this Halloween season. Only time will tell when Bingo Hell and Black as Night premiere on October 1 followed by Madres and The Manor on October 8.
