10 Lore Olympus Memes That Are Too Hilarious For Words

Fans of Lore Olympus are super excited about the recent release of Lore Olympus Season Two, with not only one episode being made available, but three additional FastPass chapters too. The last season ended on a cliff hanger, so naturally, fans were eager to see what happened next.

Lore Olympus was created by Rachel Smythe and began in 2018, quickly becoming a fan favorite amongst Webtoon readers and has since become the most popular comic on the platform that has more than 300 million views and a whopping 3.9 million subscribers as of May 2020. With any large fandom, the hilarious memes are sure to follow and Lore Olympus has some hilarious memes out there.

10 Is this a wife?

This meme is a brilliant take on the typical Butterfly Guy meme, but the whole image has been overhauled to suit the art style of Lore Olympus. This meme is particularly perfect as Persephone has changed into a butterfly before in front of Hades with him not realizing who she is.

Of course, for anyone who knows the original myth of Hades and Persephone, it was a given that these two would get together and become married, though that has yet to happen in the series so far.

9 Truth

Many fans have been wondering how and when Hades will discover the awful truth about what Apollo did to Persephone and what he will do to the sun god when he does. However, the creator of the Webtoon series, Rachel Smythe, has already confirmed in one of her Chatty Chats that Hades will not come to Persephone’s rescue, as this is something that Persephone has to do for herself. It’s exciting for fans who want to see her rise up.

Though there are some Lore Olympus fans who actually like Minthe, despite some of her questionable actions, arguably everyone in the fandom does not ship her with Hades at all and the highly anticipated relationship between Hades and Persephone is what they’re all about.

Part of what makes Lore Olympus so compelling is that Minthe, who is seen as Persephone’s love rival, is not strictly bad. Despite some of the awful things she’s done, readers see a more vulnerable side to her that makes it hard to hate her completely.

7 A**pollo

Unlike Minthe and some of the other meaner characters in the series, there are no redeeming qualities about Apollo at all and fans have taken to calling him A**pollo instead. It’s safe to say that the character of Apollo (as far as Lore Olympus goes) is universally hated by anyone who reads the web series.

Fans are anxiously waiting for when Apollo’s nasty deed becomes known to more characters, hoping that it will lead his downfall, but fans are also worried that he won’t ever get his comeuppance as he is favored by Zeus.

6 How old?

One of the more hilarious moments of Lore Olympus is when Hades realizes that Persephone is only nineteen years old, as in comparison he is thousands of years old. In the world of Lore Olympus, the gods hit a certain age and then their bodies stop aging altogether, so they look perpetually young.

As a result, it’s easy to understand why Hades didn’t realize that she was as young as she looks. The moment Hades finds out is especially funny as he recalls all the digs he made about Persephone seeming young and realizes how accurate he was at the time.

5 Willy Wonka Meme

This hilarious take on the Willy Wonka meme has also been lovingly re-created in the signature art style of Lore Olympus and replaces Gene Wilder with Eros. Though Persephone and Hades try to do “the right thing” and create some distance between themselves, even to the point of creating rules such as no texting after 9 PM, it obviously doesn’t stick as the attraction between the two is just too strong.

It’s adorable because the two love birds are so naive in thinking they can fight their attraction, but characters like Eros know better.

4 Second Break-up?

Though Hades and Minthe are currently broken up, it’s clear from their past history that they’re both used to an “on-again/off-again” style relationship. Though readers of the Webtoon series feel like it’s finally gearing up that Hades and Persephone might get together soon, Rachel Smythe might still mix things up by having Minthe win his affections back once more.

It’s clear that Minthe still has feelings for Hades, not to mention, Hades often questions whether he would deserve someone like Persephone, so he might go back to what he knows.

3 Worst Husband Ever

Though Rachel Smythe has changed a few things about Greek mythology for Lore Olympus, some things never change, such as Zeus’s infidelity. The thing that makes Zeus’s affairs even more difficult for readers to accept is that his wife Hera seems like a really decent character in this series, as arguably she’s a lot different in the original myths.

Despite Zeus promising Hera that he would never cheat on her again, he continues his affair with Thetis and other relationships are also alluded to. It’s clear that the King of the Gods has no plans to change how he behaves.

2 New Favorite

Hades was the undisputed favorite character for readers to lust after, right up until the introduction of Ares that was. This meme hilariously shows the fandom switching its focus to Ares by using this funny moment from The Simpsons.

What drove fans into even more of a frenzy was when they discovered that everyone’s favorite cinnamon bun Persephone had previously had a little action with Ares down in the mortal realm where the two made out for a short time.

1 Sleep is for the Weak

Lore Olympus is deservedly the top series on the Webtoon platform and each new episode that releases leaves fans desperate for more. Of course, Webtoon offers Fastpass chapters so readers can get up to three additional episodes, but then once you’ve read all those you have to wait another week just like everyone else, though you’ll be waiting for another Fastpass chapter.

The series is so addictive that many fans stay up late for the release of each chapter so they can read it as soon as possible. This is even worse for fans overseas who have new episodes drop in the early hours of the morning.
