Going for Sold is taking the worst homes in the best neighborhoods of Houston and giving them a Texas-sized makeover in this new home improvement show for HGTV. Real estate agent Jon Pierre Tjon-Joe-Pin and designer wife Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin will be taking on renovations in this new series.

In this brand new HGTV series, viewers will watch as these busy parents of two take on flipping houses in the suburbs of Houston. In each episode of Going for Sold, the couple turns forgotten homes into charming and affordable properties that appeal to young families looking for a high-end look without the hefty price tag.

According to HGTV, Mary talked about how they got into flipping houses together, saying, “Jon’s worked in real estate for years, and I lent a hand with design.” And after quitting her job as a flight attendant, Mary decided to jump into the world of design to help her husband in their business. She said, “I took a giant leap of faith, quit my job and went all in to create our family business.” With a love for bright colors and bold design, Mary likes to incorporate artful features into each home, including removable wallpaper, bamboo sinks, modern staircases, and geometric paint accent walls. Jon says his wife’s bold designs and hard work (seen pictured below, via their official Instagram account) are Jon’s secret weapons to help to set their homes apart in the competitive Houston real estate market. Jon said, “Mary’s style helps houses look better and sell faster.”

For each flip I like to tackle my own special project. I think it’s the hospitality, service industry girl in me to add a personal touch to every home. This particular piece ended up being a really cool window bench with storage. I could just imagine someone sitting in that space gazing out the window, drinking coffee and just enjoying the view. #projectflip #fliphouston #houstonstager #houstondesign #reno #houstonrenovation #houstoninvestors 📸@jonpierretjp @marytjp

In the series premiere of Going for Sold, Jon and Mary buy a large home that has a living room with cathedral ceilings and a bonus loft space. The property is riddled with issues, which includes a cracked foundation, crumbling kitchen, and outdated finishes. The duo manages to complete the massive overhaul by adding a stunning modern staircase, sleek modern kitchen, and luxurious master bath. Houston, which was ranked as one of the fastest growing cities in America, is in high demand for stylish family homes. Jon said, “More than one hundred people move to Houston every day, so we’re working to keep up with demand.”
