Disney movies are beloved by audiences all around the world and one of the reasons for that is the detail and love that is put into every character. With new characters being made for each film, they all feel incredibly unique and fresh.

But what if we were to tell you that Disney quite often brings its own characters into other Disney movies that they don’t belong in. Whether it be for a full scene or just a hidden easter egg, the animators enjoy giving hardcore fans different things to look out for in the films. With Disney + now available, why not take a look back and try and spot these moments, as we show 10 times that characters popped up in a Disney movie that wasn’t their own.

10 He Has A Dream

We kickstart this list with the movie, Tangled, and the section of the movie where the song, “I’ve Got A Dream” is being sung out by Rapunzel and everyone else in the pub, who the audience first assumes are all scary and mean. While there is tons going on throughout this scene, someone else who had a dream in a previous Disney movie can be spotted hanging out. That’s right, Pinocchio is actually placed at the top on one of the shelves during this scene.

He is hidden, so many do miss him but he is up there and he certainly suits this part of the film due to the song being sung and the famous line of his movie, “I want to be a real boy.”

9 Under The Sea

Here is an example of Disney characters popping up in other movies that many people might not be aware of, as Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck take a trip under the sea to feature in The Little Mermaid. While it does take a lot of focus to be able to spot the three popular characters, they can be seen under the sea while King Triton makes one of his speeches as the trio stands in the audience.

Who knows how they managed to get down there and how they’re holding their breath for this amount of time, but it is a pretty cool easter egg for Disney fans to try and spot if they’re able to do so.

8 Out Of The Water

Speaking of The Little Mermaid, it isn’t just characters popping up under the sea that involves this classic film featuring Ariel, as one of the famous cameos from outside of their own worlds involves a character from the movie. The moment takes place in Aladdin as Sebastian the crab makes a quick blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance as Genie looks through a book of royal recipes.

As he tries to flick through the pages, he ends up with the crab latching on to his finger while the tune of ‘Under The Sea’ plays in the background on steel drums. It’s a brief moment, but a very fun one all the same.

7 A Drum Solo As Old As Time

Mrs. Potts is one of the most iconic and popular characters from Beauty and the Beast, and she has appeared in several Disney movies in brief cameos, mainly because it is quite easy to draw in a tea set without being too in your face.

However, the best cameo certainly comes from Tarzan, where you will find her, Chip, and other pieces of the matching dining set on a table in Jane Porter’s camp. When Terk plays his song, ‘Trashin’ The Camp’, he gets to nail a quick drum solo, and it is here you will find Mrs. Potts as he actually does the drumming on her and the rest of the set.

6 A Dusty Magic Carpet

The Princess and the Frog is one of the most underrated Disney movies of all time. With a throwback animation style to the classic Disney movies, a well-known story and some amazing side characters, there is nothing to not like about this movie.

As well as all of that, it also happens to feature another Disney cameo from a character that doesn’t belong in this world, as the magic carpet from Aladdin appears in the background of a scene. Even though the carpet never speaks in Aladdin, it is a very popular and recognizable character and while Tiana is heading to her second job, you can see the Magic Carpet being shaken out from one of the windows.

5 Dumbo Takes Flight

Lilo & Stitch is a movie that is jam-packed with Easter eggs, and one of the best of those just happens to involve Dumbo, who is one of the most popular characters in Disney history. Dumbo makes an appearance in a couple of scenes throughout the movie as he is positioned in Lilo’s bed throughout it, with a Dumbo doll actually sitting on Lilo’s easel in the background for many scenes.

While Lilo never actually picks up the toy or makes any comments about it, the elephant is there and clearly is something she loves, which is a fun reference to the classic animated film.

4 A Frozen Cameo

Another cameo appearance that is made in a Disney film takes place during Big Hero 6 and features the villain of Frozen, Hans, funnily enough in frozen form as a statue which is destroyed after Baymax is upgraded and shows off his new features.

This is actually one of two cameos Hans makes in this movie, as an image of him can be found inside the police station where he appears on a wanted poster, clearly proving it isn’t just Frozen where he is a pain. Although it does appear that we may have found his exact location.

3 A Handsome Throw Rug

Have you ever wondered what happened to Scar after The Lion King was all over? Well, if you’ve seen Hercules then you would know exactly how the villainous lion ends up.

His fate isn’t a great one, which most people won’t have a problem with considering how vile he is, as he ends up being a lion rug in Hercules, one that the hero can actually wear, with the head of Scar fitting over his. Not only is this a fun little nod to the classic movie, but it is also a call back to a conversation that Zazu has with Mufasa, where the bird tells the lion that Scar would “make a very handsome throw rug,” which is exactly what he becomes.

2 Princess Sleepover

This is one of the most obvious times Disney characters popped up in another movie as they had an entire scene dedicated to them, but it did create arguably the best scene from Ralph Breaks The Internet, as all of Disney’s princesses were shown together.

Disney created a sleepover club here, with all the princesses being featured in a modern-look outside of their usual dress style as they gave advice to Venellope on what she needed to do. This is a great scene as all the princesses play off of jokes and stereotypes that have been made about them and their movies, providing some incredible one-liners and a fantastic moment within the movie.

1 A Frozen Celebration

Speaking of princesses, Ralph Breaks The Internet isn’t the first time that princesses made a cameo in another Disney movie, as Rapunzel, alongside Flynn Rider appear in Frozen during the song, ‘For The First Time In Forever.’

While she might not be as recognizable in this clip because it is after the events of Tangled, and therefore she no longer has her trademark long, blonde hair, but she can be spotted entering the castle grounds which have been opened up once again. This moment does play into a major Disney fan theory that exists about Rapunzel being cousins with Elsa and Anna, although that has still yet to be confirmed officially.
