The Simpsons Characters Sorted Into Their Hogwarts Houses

The Simpsons will probably never get a chance to attend the real Hogwarts. But if they did, it’s pretty easy to see whether they would be sorted into Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. The Sorting Hat would look at their signature traits, like Lisa’s intelligence and Bart’s sneakiness, and cast them into their houses accordingly.

Even though it’s difficult to imagine some of the Simpsons characters attending Hogwarts with Harry and his friends, we’re sure that there’s a place for them at the inclusive school. Keep reading to find out what Hogwarts houses the most popular Simpsons characters would be sorted into.

10 Homer Simpson: Gryffindor

Homer Simpson might not seem like the heroic personality you’d expect to be sorted into Gryffindor. But when you think about it, he really suits the house more than any other house at Hogwarts. He’s brave and is a hero when it comes to protecting his family (even though his stupidity also gets them into trouble sometimes).

Because of his low intelligence, Homer would never be a Ravenclaw or a Slytherin. And he’d also never fit into Hufflepuff, with their values of hard work and patience!

9 Marge Simpson: Hufflepuff

Hufflepuff’s values might not suit Homer Simpson very well, but they do align with his wife Marge. If you analyze them one by one, it’s pretty clear that Marge fits them all and the Sorting Hat would place her in Hufflepuff instantly.

It’s evident that Marge is a hard worker—she slaves for her family day and night. The fact that she’s still married to Homer is proof of her patience and loyalty. And we know that Marge is one of the most good-natured Simpsons (after Lisa).

8 Bart Simpson: Slytherin

Slytherin may have a lot of bad eggs but there are still some decent people who get sorted into the notorious house. Bart isn’t evil or destined to become a villain. He does, however, display some qualities that Slytherin house would love about him.

You can’t say that Bart isn’t cunning. He might not be academically smart, but he’s a genius when it comes to thinking up sneaky plans. He’s also super resourceful, managing to live the good life even though he’s not that intelligent.

7 Lisa Simpson: Ravenclaw

This outcome wasn’t difficult to predict. If Lisa Simpson went to Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat would place her in Ravenclaw without thinking twice. The house of learning, intelligence, creativity, and wit, Ravenclaw was basically made for people like Lisa Simpson.

Although Lisa is skeptical about magic, she would thrive in an environment like Hogwarts, especially if she was surrounded by her fellow Ravenclaw students. The riddle that students need to solve to enter the Ravenclaw common room would be no problem at all for Lisa.

6 Mr. Burns: Slytherin

It should come as no surprise that the Hogwarts house that fits Mr. Burns the most is Slytherin. A house for those who are cunning, ambitious, resourceful, and leaders, it seems like the green and silver Slytherin would make Mr. Burns feel right at home.

He fits all the Slytherin qualities perfectly, from his goals of world domination to his ability to run the nuclear power plant (albeit, with the help of Mr. Smithers). Something tells us that Mr. Burns would definitely want to join the Death Eaters too.

5 Ned Flanders: Hufflepuff

Ned Flanders displays the chivalry of a Gryffindor and the resourcefulness of a Slytherin, but ultimately, he fits well into Hufflepuff house. The Sorting Hat might take a while to decide where to put him, but this would definitely be the result.

Like the rest of Hufflepuff, Ned Flanders believes in justice (even if it is his own religious version of justice). He’s also super patient and a hard worker. There’s no question about the extent of his loyalty either—just ask Reverand Lovejoy!

4 Apu Nahasapeemapetilon: Hufflepuff

If Apu was accepted at Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat would most likely place him in Hufflepuff with Marge and Ned. The Hat would really have no choice after seeing how hard he works to run the Kwik-E-Mart and raise octuplets.

Apu is also a very patient character, hardly ever losing his temper with his hordes of annoying customers. He is also brave like a Gryffindor and resourceful like a Slytherin, but Hufflepuff is the best fit.

3 Principal Skinner: Slytherin

Principal Skinner might not like the idea of being sorted into Slytherin, but this does seem like the house that the Sorting Hat would place him in. Skinner isn’t evil by any standards. He does display many of the standard Slytherin traits, though.

We know that Principal Skinner is a good leader, even though he sometimes loses control of the kids at school. He’s also resourceful, making the best out of the school’s limited funds. He’s quick when it comes to thinking on his feet and also has great ambitions—even if they don’t manifest.

2 Edna Krabappel: Ravenclaw

It seems cliché that a school teacher would fit into Ravenclaw house. If Edna Krabappel was accepted at Hogwarts, though, we have a feeling that this is what the Sorting Hat would tell her. She just fits into the house so well.

Though she’s jaded, she must love learning deep inside or else she would have quit her job working as an elementary school teacher. She’s also intelligent and her wit is one of her strengths.

1 Kent Brockman: Slytherin

There are quite a few Slytherins in Springfield! Newsreader Kent Brockman would also be sorted into Slytherin house if he went to Hogwarts, and something tells us that he wouldn’t mind that at all.

You can tell from the heights that Kent Brockman reaches in his career that he’s an ambitious soul who’s willing to do whatever it takes to win. He might not be overly cunning, but he is resourceful, sometimes clutching at straws to find the perfect lead or story. He’s not the best leader, but he is well suited to being in positions of power and ordering around those who he deems to be below him.
