X-Men’s film franchise from Fox was a mixed bag at times but it also featured a handful of truly epic scenes that fans love.

Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe became the biggest superhero production factory in the world, and even before Spider-Man arrived in theaters, Fox struck gold with its X-Men franchise. The first X-Men movie, although it arrived after Blade, proved Marvel superheroes could succeed on the big screen, and that franchise lasted for 13 movies.

The main X-Men team had a trilogy and then four prequel team movies. Wolverine had three movies, Deadpool had two with one more coming from the MCU, and The New Mutants finished things off. While some fans discount the series, several of the movies have great critical reviews and they feature some epic moments for fans to remember.

10 X-Force Dies – Deadpool 2 (2018)

2018’s Deadpool 2 brought Cable and Domino to the X-Men universe and then set up Deadpool with a mission to form X-Force. This was a big deal as X-Force was one of the mutant world’s most popular teams. However, Fox played the squad for jokes.

The one mission that X-Force went on was an unmitigated disaster and everyone died but Deadpool and Domino in hilariously brutal methods. This even included a Brad Pitt cameo, as he played the invisible member, Vanisher.

9 The Combat Montage – X-Men Origins – Wolverine (2009)

The worst solo Wolverine movie according to critics was the first, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There were many reasons, but there were solid moments, including the performance of Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth. The movie disappointed critics and fans alike, but most agreed the opening scene was an epic moment and the best part.

In this scene, Logan and Sabretooth fought together through several wars and ended up as part of a Team X together before Logan left and tried to escape that life.

8 Magneto Prison Escape – X2: X-Men United (2003)

Magneto had monumental moments through the entire X-Men franchise. From battling the X-Men to Magneto working as a sympathetic character in the prequels, he did incredible things. One of his more epic moments came in X2: X-Men United.

It was a small thing, showing how powerful Magneto is. He found a brutal way to escape from prison thanks to iron in the guard’s blood. Magneto extracted it all, killing him as the blood drops formed around his body.

7 Quicksilver Rescue Scene – X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

There were two epic Quicksilver scenes in the X-Men prequel movies. The first, and arguably the best, came in X-Men: Days of Future Past when Quicksilver first showed his speed powers while breaking Magneto out of prison. It was groundbreaking as the first time he showed off his power, but the second was epic because of the reason Quicksilver used his speed powers.

In X-Men: Apocalypse, Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen show up to kidnap Professor Xavier and when Havok tries to stop them, he blows up the mansion. Quiksilver used his power to save every student in the mansion except Havok before it explodes.

6 Nightcrawler Invades White House – X2: X-Men United (2003)

The second X-Men movie, X2: X-Men United, opens with a crowd-pleasing scene. Nightcrawler makes his big-screen debut, and he isn’t part of the X-Men when he arrives. Instead, Nightcrawler invades the White House and confronts the President of the United States.

Thanks to his teleportation powers, he “bamfs” all around the building to get to the President. It ended up as one of the most epic hero introductions in the X-Men movies.

5 Deadpool Car Fight – Deadpool (2016)

The first Deadpool movie opened with an opening credit scene that showed that it was nothing like any Fox X-Men fan expected, all set to the song “Angel of the Morning.” That is also what most Deadpool fans hoped for.

After this, Deadpool introduced himself and dropped onto a car speeding down the highway to show how this all came about. This highway scene was an epic battle that set the tone for the entire Deadpool franchise.

4 Cuban Missile Crisis – X-Men: First Class (2011)

There were plenty of epic scenes in the first X-Men prequel, rejuvenating the franchise. Magneto received a fresh start, taking part in two of these scenes. Many fans point to his murder of Sebastian Shaw. However, there was one scene eclipsing that.

X-Men: First Class took place during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the mutants had two jobs. First, they had to stop the Hellfire Club. Second, they needed to prevent the launch of missiles threatening to send the world into war. That came down to Magneto, proving himself one of Earth’s most powerful mutants.

3 Logan And X-23 In Forest – Logan (2017)

X-23, also known as Laura in the X-Men’s world, first appeared in an X-Men movie in Logan. The movie saw Logan realize X-23 was a clone, created from his stolen DNA. He helped save her and then the two tried to save other kids who escaped after horrible experimentation.

This all led to the conclusion, with Wolverine and X-23 joining forces for an epic battle with the Reavers and another clone, X-24. Fans waited the entire movie to see this epic battle, and it ended up worth the wait.

2 Wolverine Train Fight – The Wolverine (2013)

Wolverine had three solo movies in the Fox X-Men franchise. X-Men Origins ended up a critical disappointment, and the third is one of the best-rated X-Men movies of all time.

The middle one bridged the gap and gave Marvel Comics fans Wolverine in Japan, a huge part of his comics’ life. The Wolverine also has an epic fight screen, taking place on the top of a bullet train. This was one of the most inventive fight scenes in any X-Men movie.

1 X-Men Vs. Sentinels Opening – X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014)

The second X-Men prequel jumped to one of the most iconic storylines in comic book history. X-Men: Days of Future Past wasted no time bringing the old into the new. The original trilogy actors operated in the future while the prequel trilogy stars worked in the past to stop the apocalypse.

The most epic scene in this movie shocked moviegoers. All the original stars, including Iceman, Storm, Rogue, and more, fought the Sentinels, and many of them died in the massive battle. It showed the true stakes of what they fought for.
