Jacinda Barrett Roles Where You Recognize The Bloodline Star

Here’s a quick guide to the career of Australian-born actress and Bloodline star Jacinda Barrett. What do Jacinda Barrett, Grimm star David Giuntoli and Orange Is The New Black actress Laverne Cox have in common? They’re all actors who got their start on reality TV. Giuntoli was on Road Rules, Cox appeared on I Want To Work For Diddy and in Barrett’s case, it was The Real World: London which aired back in 1995 and was the first season of the show filmed outside the USA.

Jacinda Barrett’s first acting role was in the 1997 horror anthology Campfire Tales, which she followed up with bit parts in shows like Canadian superhero series NightMan, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Millennium. In the late 1990s, Barrett also had multiple-episode roles in the shows Wind On Water – a Bo Derek-fronted melodrama – and teen sitcom Zoe, Duncan, Jack And Jane.

Barrett kick-started the 2000s with roles in several short-lived TV shows. She played Holly Cameron in the TNT stockbroker drama Bull, Finley Scott in the US capital-set drama D.C. and Dori Baines – the estranged daughter of a politician played by James Cromwell – in CBS’ Citizen Baines. Her film career blossomed in the early 2000s too, beginning with a role as ill-fated college student Lisa in horror sequel Urban Legends: Final Cut. She had a small role in the Anthony Hopkins-fronted drama The Human Stain, played Joaquin Phoenix’s wife in disaster movie Ladder 49 and Rebecca Gillies – Renee Zellweger’s apparent love rival – in Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason.

Jacinda Barrett added more movie credits to her resume from the mid-2000s onward. She played Heloise Plisson – the heiress wife of literary conman Tom Ripley – in crime thriller Ripley Under Ground and played a survivor aboard a sinking ship in disaster remake Poseidon. She also appeared in the romantic comedy-dramas The Last Kiss and New York, I Love You, cross-cultural drama The Namesake and Todd Philips’ comedy School For Scoundrels. In 2009, she starred opposite her actor husband Gabriel Macht in Middle Men – a movie about internet pornography in the 1990s – and the following year returned to her native Australia for drama Matching Jack.

Lately, the Australian actress has stuck largely to TV work. She appeared alongside her husband again in legal drama Suits with a recurring role as Zoe Lawford – a former love interest of Macht’s character Harvey – and had a main role in short-lived conspiracy thriller Zero Hour playing Laila Galliston. More recently, she nabbed a three-episode part as cult leader Julia in the second season of crime thriller The Following and – of course – had a main role in the Netflix original series Bloodline as Diana Rayburn.

Although her film career has waned in the last few years, Jacinda Barrett has been in a couple of recent movies including the drama So B. It (directed by Jake Gyllenhaal’s father Stephen) and supernatural horror Seven In Heaven. Next up, she’ll star in actor-director Joel David Moore’s forthcoming thriller Hide And Seek opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Joe Pantoliano.
