Two new Spidey suits have been revealed by PlayStation for its upcoming Spider-Man: Remastered game on the PS5. Originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2018, Marvel’s Spider-Man became one of Sony’s best-selling games. On its release month alone, it outsold all other Spider-Man games combined in the same sales period by an astounding 37%. Given those numbers, it is no surprise that Sony and Marvel want to “swing in” to the new gaming generation with a remastered version of the popular game.

Insomniac Games confirmed that Spider-Man: Remastered would be coming to the PlayStation 5 in a bundle with the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales in September, and have since gone on to release new footage of the game with its next-gen graphics. This footage was met with some raised eyebrows initially, as the face of Peter Parker appeared to be significantly altered in the new game footage. Many outcries on social media seemed to be based around feelings that Insomniac Games was being too influenced by the MCU, and that this new-faced Peter Parker resembled a striking resemblance to Tom Holland. Insomniac since released a statement saying that this was not that case, and the new facial design for Peter Parker was a decision made purely to deliver more believable looking characters.

As the dawn of the PlayStation 5 creeps ever closer, fans are being treated to more reveals and teasers from Sony and Marvel. Their latest: two new Spidey suits for the remastered game. Debuting the two new looks on Twitter, PlayStation UK gave fans their first look at the Arachnid Rider and the Armored Advanced suits. Both look incredibly slick in their style, with Peter Parker’s trademark red and blue still featuring heavily in the design of the Arachnid Rider suit. Meanwhile, the white of the Armored Advanced suit bares a striking similarity to the original Armored Suit from the comic book series.

For those who have been unable to secure a PlayStation 5 for preorder, all is not lost. PlayStation has confirmed that these suits will also be available on the PlayStation 4 edition of the game. That said, gamers on the next-gen PlayStation 5 will most likely have access to the new suits earlier than those still using the PlayStation 4.

With only 6 days to go until the release of the PlayStation 5, there is not much longer for fans to wait until they can swing across the rooftops with ease and only a slight sense of vertigo. While disappointing for many that Spider-Man: Remastered can only be played with its new graphics if purchased alongside Miles Morales, these new suits are another sweet incentive from Sony for gamers to dive back into the Spider-Verse once more.
